Hey Obama, David Cameron Has a Strategy

Unlike someone we know, it sounds like United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron has a strategy for defeating Islamic extremists. At a press conference today on the growing threat of ISIS, Cameron offered a passionate speech with plans to disrupt the terror group. Just a glimpse at his comments proves he knows exactly who we’re dealing with:

“The threat we face today comes from the poisonous narrative of Islamist extremism.”

“The terrorist threat was not created by the Iraq war ten years ago. It existed even before the horrific attacks on 9/11."

“This threat cannot be solved simply by dealing with the perceived grievances over Western foreign policy."

"We cannot appease this ideology. We have to confront it at home and abroad."

Thankfully, Cameron is more than a speech maker. In addition to announcing the UK was raising the terror threat level from “substantial” to “severe," Cameron said they will introduce new laws to fights terrorists and seize passports from terror suspects. He plans to offer more details on the UK's plans in a few days:

On Monday, I will speak in the House on the measures we're taking to defeat extremism, protect our way of life and keep all our people safe.— David Cameron (@David_Cameron) August 29, 2014

The prime minister's comments were a clear contrast from our commander-in-chief’s response to the growing threat of ISIS militants at a Thursday press conference. President Obama acknowledged the threat of the extremist group, yet stated the US does not yet have a strategy to confront it. Numerous lawmakers and analysts criticized his comments as weak. Following Cameron’s speech, however, a number of pundits were clearly impressed:

Can we borrow David Cameron? He fights.— Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) August 29, 2014

PM Cameron speaks 2 UK people in no uncertain terms about threat. Mr. Obama spoke 2 US people in nothing but uncertain terms #foxnews #tcot— Eric Grey (@eric_grey) August 29, 2014

Obama: It's "unrealistic" to defeat ISIS,and we don't have a strategy anyway. Cameron: It won't be quick, but we will defeat them. #Contrast— Josh Jordan (@NumbersMuncher) August 29, 2014

Barack Obama to speak at 3 pm to urge David Cameron to take it down a notch.— Noah Rothman (@NoahCRothman) August 29, 2014

Personal favorite:

Wow. #DavidCameron2016— Andrew Clark (@AndrewHClark) August 29, 2014

You know it's a good speech when people are talking more about the content of his speech than his tan suit. While Obama seems more interested in golfing, Cameron is taking serious steps to combat this very dangerous organization.

“This threat cannot be solved simply by dealing with the perceived grievances over Western foreign policy”

Those who are using this reason really don’t understand ISIS at all. Most of who they kill are Muslims, so how could they hold US/West accountable for killing Muslims when they do it themselves. Its got nothing to do with revenge/perceived injustice, but simply a movement to create an Islamic Empire and forcing everyone to convert. This is not local, regional, but a global movement

or gone golfing.

Contrast that with Obama’s “we don’t have a strategy for dealing with ISIS”.

Sheeesh, it’s embarrassing!

Obama doesn’t have an ISIS strategy because ‘strategy’ has too many Ts in it that remind him of the afternoon T-time.

I actually rewound and replayed David Camerons speech, because I missed hearing from a REAL leader for so long, that it was good to finally hear one.

Obama needs to talk to Kerry.

I recall when Kerry was running for president in 2004, he had a plan for every occasion — or at least he said he did.

Belatedly. He waited until he was forced to do something. That is not real leadership, but at least he is doing something. Obama not so much.

Yeah, he sounds like a moderate Democrat circa 1991. Which is a good indication of how far we have fallen...

Actually he did not. As soon as he was notified that the terrorist who decapitated the Reporter, he cancelled his vacation and returned to Downing Street. That arrogant pos occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave on the other hand went back to the golf course

You are correct with "At least he is doing something. 0bama not so much

Obama and his minions strategize day and night. They do just about nothing except strategize. But the only thing they strategize about is how to destroy the Republican party and steal elections. It’s too bad they’re getting a lot of help doing that from inside the republican party itself.

They have no time left to worry about the ME or Russian imperialism.

But they are in a “lock box” somewhere, never to be seen or heard from again. Or maybe stolen by Jingus Kahn.

Appearing resplendent yesterday in his new Coward-Yellow suit, Muslim B. Hussein Obama announced to America’s Mortal Enemy since 9-11-01, the Militant Muslims, that “We have no strategy, yet.” against Militant Muslims.

After five and a half years of on the job training, B. Hussein has failed to learn how to be the Commander in Chief of the most powerful Military that the World has ever seen, is truly a monument to B. Hussein’s inherent poor scholarship.

It is small wonder then why he chose to have his personal academic records sealed.

Ever fearful of making a decision that involves “going it alone” on Foreign Policy, B. Hussein will be traveling in style to Europe next week for a Community of Nations Organizing Committee Meeting, after the usual bilking of money from Democrat Donors from Wall Street, of course.

Curiously, B. Hussein has NO problem “going it alone” on US Domestic issues, as documented by his frequent illegal use of his pen, phone and Executive Orders.

BTW, will Speaker “Blank Check” Boehner continue to loyally fund the Military mis-adventures of Failed CIC Obama?

Will Boehner change his mind after 9-11-14?

True that. He recognizes the severity of the threat and did the right thing in this instance. However, my comment was more to the point of not addressing this threat which has been years in the making. Where have he (and Obama) been for the last couple of years while ISIS was growing and festering? There is no question that they knew about it and did precious little to thwart it. In fact, both Cameron and Obama tried to squash Assad which would have effectively handed over the entire state of Syria to these fanatical savages. In Cameron’s press conference today, you’ll note that he completely dodges the Syria question with an evasive response.
