ISIS is targeting Pope Francis, calling him the “bearer of false truth.” According to an Italian source, ISIS is not only setting their sites on the Vatican, but more specifically, on Pope Francis himself.
Italian authorities have already issued an alert giving warnings on places that our potential targets to terrorist, and one on the list, being very significant, was “places of worship,” which would include the Vatican.
It has been reported that at least 50 people from Italy are now fighting for ISIS, 80% of whom are native Italians who converted to Islam. One of the reasons for their conversion, according to one Italian newspaper, was “distrust in the Catholic Church,” indicating the connection between Islam and anti-Catholicism.
Most interestingly, the goal to force the Vatican to become Muslim was recently stated by an ISIS agent in Italy named Imam Ismar Mesinovic, a Bosnian Muslim who stationed himself in the country to recruit Italian converts to fight for ISIS. He said:
We Muslims believe that one day the whole world will be an Islamic state. Our goal is to make sure that even the Vatican will be Muslim. Maybe I will not be able to see it, but that time will come.

Taking out the moon rock in Mecca, plus Medina with small thermonukes during the Haj without warning will not get muslims together. Rather, it will have the opposite effect.
The prime tenant of Islam is that allah is absolute, managing everything down to the molecular level. And is therefore the true god.
Allowing his sacred rock to be nuked would prove to muslims that allah is a false god, and they would all convert to Christianity, Judaism, or atheism.
There was an article to this effect back in 2001-02, after they hit NYC, by some reporter who interviewed known muslim fighters (in Iraq?). They were asked what they would do in the event that Mecca and Medina were nuked by the US. As far as they were concerned, Islam would be no more, having been shown to be a false religion. (I no longer have the article referenced).
Interesting ... wish had seen that article. Wonder if bunker busters would suffice to have the same affect? Could see where nukes would do the job of inhalation but if bunker busters would have the same affect and the effects would be similar would like that also. Will search for the article mentioned. The latest incarnation of MOAB would do the blast effects (but has the draw back of being too slow to deliver - dropped out of the back of a C7), but not the important radiation effect. Which muslim would pray five times a day to radioactive glassy site, knowing that allah could not prevent it? The humiliation factor alone would make them run from Islam.

You said neither Brazil nor Mexico would participate in a new Crusade. But what if they did, and they responded to it like we did to WWII. It could result in significant industrialization, and might even flush out a lot of the corruption.

We don’t react like that when somebody destroys a Cathedral.
So the “we” is the United States, and if Mexico and Brazil attacked the Middle East, and became super industrialized nations like the United States, it would be good because they would become less corrupt at the same time?

Not “super industrialized, just industrialized. And it is very common in history for rising prosperity to be accompanied by falling corruption.
Well, that is all an interesting fantasy based on Mexico and Brazil invading the Middle East.
The Rock is not a Cathedral. It is rather the most Earthly representation of allah - there is nothing like it in Christianity.
Muslims do not think like Christians, but rather in terms of absolutes dictated by allah - thus the phrase ‘if allah wills’ is a literal belief.
If a church or Cathedral is destroyed, Christians move on; If the Rock were destroyed: allah is destroyed and Islam stops.
But wouldn’t it be nice if the idea of a Crusade caught on?
How are you defining a crusade, not dictionary formal, but roughly, what do you mean “a crusade”?
I mean a multinational military surge aimed at rendering the muslims incapable of military action or terrorist attacks. And, of course, the expulsion of muslims from the West.

Sorry, I can’t cut and paaste on this device, but destroying the Kaaba in Mecca is a goal of ISIS. They believe it is an idol and their God forbids them. The Saudis are evidently fearful it may be attempted. Google ISIS destroy Mecca and you will get numorous articles, FOX News, HuffPo, and many more.
Destroying Mecca is one thing, making the Kaaba radioactive dust is another ... whatever ISIS styles it self as, they are still muslims who pray five times a day in the direction of Mecca. Each time they do they will be reminded of their humiliation at the hands of infidels who did what they (ISIS) could not do, and that allah was too weak to prevent it.
If they destroy the Kaaba with sledge hammers and explosives, it means they are doing allah’s will as good muslims must. Allah is affirmed as all powerful.
If we (Christians/Crusaders/infidels) destroy the Kaaba with a thermonuke, it means allah was not powerful enough to stop infidels. Allah is weak and is a false god. And the Judeo-Christian G_d is all powerful.
This isn’t specifically about ending ISIS alone, but ending the plague on humanity known as Islam. To understand, we must stop thinking like Christians/westerners and attempt to see the world as middle eastern muslims.
One cannot defeat an enemy until one can name the enemy: the West in general has yet to do this step, mainly due to the West’s near ignorance of the koran and the other holy books (Talibari, Muslim, Isaq and Bukhari) which define the koran’s meanings - reading the koran in isolation tells one nothing of Islam (I might add that the West’s view of Islam as a different version of Christianity is old Islamic taquiya, further enforced by fearful medieval monks);
Naming the enemy leads to identifying the enemy’s weaknesses: one of which is heavy reliance on symbolism, including dates, things, and places - a practice stemming from Pre-Dynastic Egypt;
Identifying the enemy’s weaknesses leads to defeating the enemy: destruction of or compromising those symbols - this is also Islam’s game plan for the West. 911, NYC, and Rome are symbols to them. Using their plan against them is one way to defeat Islam.
