From a friend who has homeschooled 4 children, there is great concern that Common Core, among other things, will deny college educations to home schooled families.

The girls who went to Holy Cross, Villanova, Providence and the rest, came back completely brainwashed on feminism. Forget the State Colleges! I went to one. and that was when you were allowed to HAVE an opinion.
You cannot send a kid to college if they are not completely well formed and able to withstand the brainwashing.
By the time a current ten year old is seventeen, there will be choices anyway. there are on line schools which issue accredited bachelors degrees without a tedious admissions process, and do it a lot cheaper than a brick and mortar.
This is intimidation, and whenever one says , no, for God’s sake, I am not doing that to my child, God always, 100% of the time comes in to save the day.

You don’t want to send your kid to a school who will not take a home schooled kid.
Get around people who do it correctly, or go to private school. Or home school in the earlier years for good formation.
I know a family who home schooled, and their last child is now on a full ride at a med school, second woe is in a doctorate program at a huge University, he is a rocket scientist, and the oldest is a lawyer.
They all home schooled to 12th grade except the oldest who wanted the experience of a big school. She entered the local school later and became the class president.
