CT Republicans need to launch a “Bring Industry Back!” campaign.
State Regulations that “bite” more sharply than Federal Regulations need to be dialed back — or repealed as “redundant”.
Laws that place financial liability on innocent businesses should be repealed.
Those taxes identified as making Connecticut less competitive for business and industry should be reduced.
A “good faith” government hiring freeze would help a lot.
As would an overhaul of the “good-ole-boy” judicial system. A change that considered 12 “guilty” votes received from 14 impaneled jurors to mean “conviction” would reduce crime and clean up the Court’s backlogs.
And how about putting some toll-booths on the roads into those “sovereign” mega-casinos? Why should Macau reap all those dollars?
Will the last conservative to leave please turn off the lights?
Even though you probably talk funny, I will welcome you to Virginia as long as you do not try to turn it in to Connecticut.
The most redeeming thing about Connecticut is that it is a long ways from here.
Springfield MA is just across the boarder. Used to go their back in the 80’s.
Drove through a couple of years ago and thought I was in another country.
I left “toney” Fairfield County, CT for Idaho and I’ll never go back. CT is a prison for tax slaves.
Funny? I don’t know what you’re talking “aboot”. It’s not just Canadian, I’ve heard it in VA.
True, but again as the black and Hispanic populations increase, the so-called "poverty" rate will increase. Very small numbers of people in those two groups get STEM jobs. So even if some make it to middle-class jobs, the increasing majority of them will still have low-paying jobs or no jobs at all. And their numbers increase faster than other ethnic groups which always drives the average down.
It would be interesting to see how the money/income numbers for white and Asians increase or decrease. They are the ethnic groups who get the overwhelming majority of the STEM and skilled trades types of jobs.
Dey gots dem rats ya know!
Back in the home countries, the only way to make and keep any money was to hide your income. Immigrants from 3rd world countries do the same thing here. A lot of cash changes hands but not much is reported as income.
