Breaking: Obama to delay immigration action until voters can’t punish Democrats for it

Is this really “breaking news” if it was sadly predictable all along? The AP thought so:

They lead the actual story by emphasizing that Barack Obama broke a promise by kicking this can down the road:

Abandoning his pledge to act by the end of summer, President Barack Obama has decided to delay any executive action on immigration until after the November congressional elections, White House officials said.

The move is certain to infuriate immigration advocates while offering relief to some vulnerable Democrats in tough Senate re-election contests.

Two White House officials said Obama concluded that circumventing Congress through executive actions on immigration during the campaign would politicize the issue and hurt future efforts to pass a broad overhaul.

Ahem. The issue of politicization comes primarily from circumventing Congress, not just the timing of it. However, this makes the entire project look a lot more political now. If it’s the right thing to do, why hasn’t Obama done it already? Isn’t that what “leadership” is supposed to be about? Why would it be the wrong thing to do in early September but the right thing to do in late November?

As far as worrying about the damage it will do to “pass[ing] a broad overhaul,” that’s an argument for not issuing unilateral decrees at all. Does anyone believe that Congress will take the short period of time between now and the election to pass a massive comprehensive-immigration bill? They’ll be lucky to pass a continuing resolution that will take the federal budget to December in that time frame. After the election, attention will return to the rest of the FY2015 budget. Any movement on immigration would have to wait until the next session of Congress, and everyone knows it.

Protect the Senate! Protect Obama's shield! That's the mantra and the goal of the Establishment of both parties.

No surprise here. The factors at play were Obama's ego, as in "I'll do what I want regardless of what anyone thinks", and the always present political calculations. It's important to him to keep the Senate.

The bet he's going to make is that the short attention span of the low information American voter will work for him. He'll wait until after the midterm election to screw us on immigration, and hope the furor dies down by the 2016 Presidential vote. Not a bad bet, from his point of view.

The George Washington University Battleground Poll shows that more Americans trust Republicans to do a better job handling immigration than Democrats, 48 to 41 percent — and in states with competitive Senate races, the share of people who trust Republicans more on immigration jumps to 61 percent. In addition, the poll shows that 58 percent of Americans either somewhat or strongly disapprove of President Obama's handling of immigration.

OMG---this means Dummycrats' voter fraud machine will go into overdrive.

Watch out for flying tacos.

Valerie's on the phone w/ Mexican cartels and drug lords as we type......speeding up deliveries of taco boxes full of “eight balls” of cocaine baggies delivered by latino mules..... used as bribes to get Dummycrat votes.

The cartels are rounding up latino "politiqueras" to work for desperate Democrat candidates:

<><> to encourage people to vote Democrat,

<><> to bring latino Democrats to the polls,

<><> to ensure that ignorant latinos voters select the Democrat candidate,

<><> to pay-off illiterate latino voters for voting Democrat.

Vote-crazed Dummycrats need assurances that swarms of latino campaign workers will distribute cocaine in baggies to campaign workers, and $10 bills in exchange for the "ignoramusitos" to vote Democrat.

========================================

(Sniffle) I'm just worried sick this will take time from Dummycrats' favorite occupation---wire-transferring tax dollars to numbered accounts offshore (sob).

Really a good exercise in LEADERSHIP. Someone who goes to the front, takes the brunt, the flack, and charges on ahead and calls for his troops to follow. Charge On, Emperor Obama! Lead the troops with your flag held high.

They said this after swilling tequila shots to wash down the valium.....while holding the door shut as Gutierrez was banging on it w/ a stale taco.

Looks like lock-stepping Dummycrats got the discouraging word from the campaign trail.

Just the mention of “broken immmigration system” “unaccompanied minors” and the laughable “amnesty is the right thing to do”-——means eternal damnation.

Banishment forever from wealth-creating Congressional seats.

Voters tarring and feathering, and riding the Dummies out of town on a rail, is a distinct possibility.

Protect the Senate! Protect Obama's shield! That's the mantra and the goal of the Establishment of both parties.

The GOPe does not want to win the Senate in 2014? Or do you mean the GOPe wants to protect Obama?

Am I reading you right?

A little explanation is in order.

Obama will pull the EO trigger right after mid terms, regardless of the outcome. Rev Wright’s words are whispering in his ear.

They are all basically admitting this is something the voters DON’T want, but they are all still pushing it.

Obama has decided to delay any executive action on immigration foreign invasion of the country

Corrected. This has absolutely nothing to do with "immigration". Liberals like to call them "undocumented immigrants" I like to call them "undocumented serial killers and terrorists". They could be serial killers and terrorists as much as anything else. How would liberals know? They aren't checked out.
