John Gibson: Obama - How Did the 'Smartest Guy in the Room' Become the Dumbest?
Fox Nation ^ | September 5, 2014 | John Gibson Fox News Radio

Posted on 09/06/2014 1:01:32 PM PDT by Kaslin

The last few days have proved to be a crashing reality for the idol worshipers who have left a trail of drool as they have followed Barack Obama since he announced he was the reincarnation of Abraham Lincoln and offered his brilliance for the world’s top job.

He announced that he was smarter than his intelligence advisers, no matter what their speciality might be. Politics? Yes, I’m smarter he told us. National Security? Ditto. Economics? Yup, I’m the smartest guy in the room.

He told the New Yorker Magazine he was the absolute champion of the smart people who surround him: ““I think that I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters,”he said to Patrick Gaspard, his political director, the New Yorker reported. “I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m going to think I’m a better political director than my political director.”

Being smart and being wise are two different conditions. Also being smart and being knowledgeable are two different conditions.

The tragedy that is Barack Obama is that those of us that are smart, and wise, and knowledgeable know he is but a deluded fool. Every world leader knows it and has already cast the man on the trash pile of history.

Obama was never the ‘smartest guy in the room’ as any Freeper with a pulse knew, it’s just that now the slow learners are finally figuring it out.

5 minutes without his crutch teleprompter, reading someone else's prepared speech, he's a mumbling, bumbling fool!

Example after example on Al's Internet thing.

The media swooned, and anointed Obama as the smartest one in he room, regardless of what Obama himself claimed. A simple review of his background, and accomplishments, would have exposed him, but no, he was the first black president and that was good enough.

Now the media gets to watch as the world crumbles around them, and there is no one to blame but Obama himself.

Hello world, there is a new sheriff in town.

It’s like the old radio personality Jean Shepherd once said: so many things in the world are made of a common cow by-product, and they never turned out well because the were bad to begin with.

I never thought, nor saw any sign of, Obama being the smartest guy in the room. I don’t think he’s Patty Murray dim (who is, besides Patty Murray?), but he’s never shown me anything to suggest he was ever the philosopher-king his toadies tried to make him out to be.

Nixon had an intuitive grasp of foreign affairs like no other in my lifetime. Reagan had vision and an unshakeable belief in the basic goodness and moral strength of America. Bill Clinton was, for all his faults, a masterful politician. Obama has none of those things. His foreign policy is an incoherent mess, and his domestic policy is “Why won’t Congress and the people just do what I tell them to do?”

One has to assume, therefore, that he has always thought himself smarter than his Vice President, Joe Biden. Smarter than his Secretary of State John Kerry. Smarter than his Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel.

I wouldn't argue that Obama isn't smarter than those three idiots, and I'd add Hillary to the list, but I'd also remember the baseline is so low that Obama would embarrass himself if he made the claim.

A good leader always surrounds himself with specialists smarter than he is.

Exactly. In Obama's case, that would include Elmer Fudd, Dumb and Dumber, and the residents of the county home for the "mentally challenged."

Groupthink and cognitive dissonance, and yes, it’s the very word I find liberals using that also applies to them in this case as well.

How did Pelosi get left out of this “most dim” contest?

Actually, now that I think about it, “dim” would be a kindness.

Much more charitable than downright stupid!

Hey, john...maybe because he never was the brightest. It is just that you newsroom jackals pushed the fool as such. This makes you co-conspirators in many crimes against the people.

The problem is, these kinds of people do not ever fully understand they are the stupid ones. I have worked with/for such people—perhaps most of us have.

Believers truly must ask that question. What have we done!? Do we deserve this? What is God telling us? Answers to which are yet to come, I guess.

I can’t imagine, I simply cannot imagine. If he flips to the Old Testament Lord, there will be hell to pay, and soon, I hope.

Please explain precisely once and for all...what in the world is an “asshat”? That makes no sense at all. Now “...hole” makes perfect sense.
