It's a good thing the NY Safe Act limited their magazines to seven rounds. I'm sure these criminals followed that new law, reducing the danger they posed. I'm also sure if they failed to limit their magazine capacity, they will be prosecuted under that law, just like decent citizens would be - enhancing the penalty for this violent crime.

When you gentrify an area you have to clear out the parasites first; failure to do so ended Asbury Park’s “revival” before it even started.

Not really different than the city that was going to have a neighborhood ‘revitalized’ by having a ‘Trader Joes’ or other market going in on the perimeter of the ‘War Zone’.
Local leaders protested because it may bring ‘Whites’ and all their ‘problems’ to the neighborhood.
Thinking about it I guess they were upset because the Whites it would attract may have nice cars (HA) but not much cash (due to credit and ATM) available AND the expense of extra police patrols to ‘protect’ them just wasn’t ‘worth’ it.
The 2000s version of “there goes the neighborhood”.
Naturally, flip that whole story and make the ‘neighborhood’ White with a ‘Black’ attracting store coming in and check out the reaction. The static you would get would result from the usage of ‘Black attracting store.
