I’m not defending ethnic cleansing, but there have been war and a lot of tough stuff happened to many groups. If Crimean Tatar think they were hit the hardest in WWII they better think twice, Kozak.
Nobody is cleansing them again. If the feds raided a couple of hate preaching mosques and purged a couple of mad mullahs it won’t make Crimea a worse place.
Ukraine did a bad job to keep the muzzies in line.

There have never been mad mullahs in Crimea who preach restoration of caliphate and such things. Identification as Muslim for Crimean Tatars was just holding on to their ethnicity.

I’m not defending ethnic cleansing

Of course you are. What you do on FR is that you try to shape opinion in favor of Putin while being totally dishonest yourself. You try to make the Russian occupation of Crimea and purging of those discontent with it a Muslim issue. Same way as you used a moniker with many negative connotations in the USA - draft dodgers - to those Lithuanians refusing to go to Soviet occupational army 22 years ago.

Yeah you are defending ethnic cleansing, you made that plain in your post. Thanks for sending Chechen murderers to Ukraine. Maybe Ukraine should handle theirs by sending some Muslims to Moscow.

What exactly makes me dishonest? I think I’m totally honest and it’s your problem.
I’m really sorry if I hurt your feelings (you might be a Balt yourself). I really didn’t want it. Who are draft dodgers by your book? I guess they are people who dodge draft which was the case. I haven’t said I’m supporting prosecution of these people regarding discussion you are referring to or that I have any negative feeling towards them, or that I disagree with them.
Where did I defended “purging discontent making it a Muslim issue”? I never generalized, we are talking straight about Muslim issue here.

Who said I’m supporting it? On the other hand these Chechens aren’t acting Muslim. I haven’t heard about rapes and beheadings in Donetsk.

Not acting like muslims, just acting like....Russians.

Nope. I’m personally do not support both Crimean reincorporation much less that happens in “Novorossia”.
I still can understand motives behind Crimea, though there were less radical ways to resolve this problem in my opinion.

Well i’m glad to hear that. I’m certainly hoping they can come to some peaceful accommodation that satisfies both sides.
When the Soviet Union collapsed I had nothing but warm feelings for Russians, who I did feel some fellowship for and sympathy for what they had been through. I had hoped they would find their way to a true democracy and a prosperous future. I would like to get back to that situation.
