A rare respiratory illness that’s sickened more than a thousand kids in 10 states is likely to spread all across the United States, ABC News reported, citing doctors.

The disease hasn’t been officially identified in every state, but in some states a rare respiratory virus called human enterovirus 68 has been found. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the virus is related to the rhinovirus, which causes the common cold.
…At least 10 states — Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Iowa, Colorado, Ohio, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Georgia — have reported suspected outbreaks of human enterovirus 68 and requested CDC support.
“Viruses don’t tend to respect borders,” ABC News Chief Health and Medical Editor Dr. Richard Besser said. “It is only 10 states now, but it’s going to be across the country. So if your state doesn’t have it now, watch for it. It’s coming.”

If that’s the case, they will VERY QUICKLY have to squelch it, just as they did when airbags were decapitating kids...the larger cause must be allow to prevail.

I am just getting over this virus, at least I think that this is the one that I caught here in the Kansas City area. It doesn’t appear to be too bad for healthy adults, but I am avoiding my granddaughter and 9-month pregnant Daughter in Law. It did knock me out of work for three days and I am still in the office playing catch up. May miss some of the Royals Tigers game. bummer.
Some of us are really worried about this.
This is a real threat for loved ones who have purposely suppressed immune systems.
