I have seen a few kids get paddled by neighbors, never once saw a kid complain because he would have got another from the parents. Late 1940's
Peterson even texted the boy's mother than he hit the boy about five time more than he should have.
The photos show bleeding.
I don't know what kind of permission the boy's mother gave Peterson re discipline, but multiple strikes leaving bloody marks on a four-year-old are not 'discipline.' They're anger.

Lets just face it Peterson is just another gangsta thug who made it to the NFL and now he beats the crap out of a four year old kid on a regular basis.
I heard Rush today opining on how football is not the same as it used to be. I was thinking how I used to be such a fan and now I can’t stand to even watch these losers. Half of them are total criminals.
I can’t even imagine beating on a four year old kid til he has open wounds. Unbelievable!
There are 1700 NFL players.
To date 30 have been arrested this year. Seems high.
So, .less than 2 % of NFL players have been er....arrested.
Doesn’t that seem light given the nature of the sport, the participants in comparison to society, their society make up, or society in general?

I have to agree with you. Depending on what the child did, he may very well have deserved his whopping. I had a boy in my Sunday school class when I had the two and three year olds. This sneaky little thing would swear a blue streak so you could just barely hear him. He would hit, kick, pinch and bite other children when no one was watching, then blame it on another child. He was two and a half years old. If he had been my kid, he would have gotten the belt or the switch if he didn’t learn to stop.
Some of these people with the little angels who only need a talking to are delusional. I have known very few children who truly responded to “reason.” But that explains why the world is so screwed up today. Somebody’s been sparing the rod and now we’re reaping plenty of spoiled children.

19th century, hell. I was switched when I was a kid, by the black lady who looked after us while my parents were working. She even made me go out and pick it myself from the tree. I was raised a poor black child. My mom didn’t like it when she found out, but the lady wasn’t fired, she was a good babysitter, and she damn sure wasn’t indicted. It’s just how things were. Some of my friends had dads who we described as “strict”. That meant they used the belt.
My Dad’s plan was to let me know when I was “off the plantation” and go up to my room and he would be up later to deliver the punishment. So I would stew for an hour or so, which was worse than when I got the licking. Worked great for my kids too.
Got the belt once, bare arsed.
Got switched once. Complete with switch-marks.
Never needed another after that.
