Several years ago, I was visiting with Mike Modrick, (KOTA weatherman). He told me that the Black Hills was the most difficult part of the country to predict the weather in.

I was in Spearfish many years ago for a Fourth of July baseball game. The game was called because of heavy wet snow.

I still love it here and would not move anywhere else.

Thanks for your comments.

I was in Estes Park on July 4th in the late 80’s and it snowed on Trail Ridge Road.

I heard that Polar bears are migrating to Wyoming.

It was perhaps 1975 on a backpacking trip as a teen. We pulled into Denver in July and reports of snow where we were headed. I came up with the great idea to buy panty-hose for an extra layer of warmth (no long-underwear in the store).

I’m a guy, and didn’t think it was foolish. One of the guys did - until he was cold and wet. I think it was only a day or two though, and things got warm again. That is far from unusual in the mountains. Although snow down in Denver this time of year would be unusual.

Will this cause the black bears to riot in Wyoming?

Had to look that up - 1974 was the ad. It may have been that year or the next when the trip occurred!
