Poll: Americans disapprove of Republican Party
MSNBC ^ | Alicia Maule

A new Washington Post-ABC poll found that 72% of Americans “strongly” disapprove of the Republican party — yet the GOP could still take control of the Senate after the upcoming midterm elections. Those seemingly disparate results likely come from a mixture of voter apathy toward Republicans winning the Senate and a 54% disapproval rating of Barack Obama’s “handling his job.”

I agree. This rope-a-dope tactic has its limits. The Republicans have to come out swinging for the knock-out blow. I hope that is their strategy.

I see, so the media is neutral on the republican/versus democrat party.

Brilliant work, thanks.

Do the same poll for Democrats. The majority will disapprove. Then go back and ask both groups if they approve of their local representatives. The majority approves of their OWN reps, but are quick to disapprove of others. This poll means absolutely nothing. It is simply a way to demoralize republicans and empower democrats. The polls, for accuracy, should be specifically aimed at a district, with that district’s voters polled. What a Wyoming district’s opinion is concerning my Missiouri districts representative has absolutely zero bearing on anything. I despise Nancy Pelosi. However, I have zero say in the matter of San Francisco’s majority of mentally ill voters... I hope I make sense.

No, the media is incidental - It is the republicans that are neutered neutral.

The reason liberalism is succeeding is that it has no opposition. Period. Own it. That's how it will get better.

Brilliant work, thanks.

You're welcome.

I wonder if there was a poll question that asked if the respondee favors neither party. Most of the polls ask the respondee to give their impression of the party between one and five, with a one being least favorability and five being your highest favorability. It is easy to give an answer with a different weighting with each series of questions. That skews the results.

I disapprove of Republicans too, but I absolutely hate the Democrats and will vote against them whenever I get a chance to do so.

I wonder how the CPUSA would poll.

I also suspect this poll is being used to demoralize Republicans. The DemonRATs know they are going down. They will pull out all stops as November gets closer. How the Republicans respond is in the nebulous science of politics. I hope they get their formula correct.

I hope so, too. It’s sad that I don’t have much faith that they will get it correct. Republicans simply don’t know how to be winners, worrying too much about appeasing the opposition and too little about their constituents’ reasons for giving them their positions.

The CPUSA? I sure they would do a mother of all push polls since they are not interested in anything but their own communist agenda. It is interesting that the CPUSA is loaded with DemonRATs in Congress and the Senate. For that reason, anyone polling me about the DemonRATs would get extra low (expletive deleted) remarks besides my least favorable rating.

The DemonRATs are indeed Marxists. However, I prefer to call them for what they are, Communists. During the Cold War, they were called Commie Pinkos. That is why I also call them DemonRATs. They are evil.

there was a recent article where Republicans and i guess more likely conservatives are very willing to say they don’t approve of the party. That by no means translates into Dem votes.

Maybe a few conservatives, but the GOPe? Not a chance; they are the reserve force the Rats will bring in to try and win in November.

But everybody except many low-information pukes (and certain FReepers) know the Democrat Party sucks worse, and, therefore, one must vote for the one with an R after his name, even if he’s a total jerk! And please do forget the Losertarians and the Constipationalists!

Allow me to set you straight Roveite. I voted DEM last U.S. Senate General Election instead of YOUR Parties Beloved LaModerate Alexander. WHY? Because the Dem was far more Conservative including Pro-Life Pro-Second. Dems sued to try and get the guy off their ticket. Get a clue you Party Selling BUSHBOOT Ilk showed up in here in 2000 and the your beloved precious GOP could do not wrong cabal that saw a lot of good posters booted. It only got worse after Bush was elected and used the War On Terror as a means to push his destructive N.A.F.T.A. and tried top make us USIXOICO. Other disasters included forming the Dept of Homeland Security, The Patriot Act, the beginning of spying on law abiding citizens, and WASTED A TWO HOUSE MAJORITY on HIS brand of DEMALITE expanding federal government powers to make jobs for friends. Obama enjoys abuses of powers today thanks mostly to your beloved GOP and G.W. Bush.

Since when is demanding our government abide in the limitations and boundaries specified in the Constitution a bad thing? Since when are Constitutionalist the enemy? You think if the GOP does it all is well huh?

If the GOP puts out a RINO who will do the DEMs dirty work I will NEVER support them. They did more damage to this nation than Teddy K in all his time in office because they made any organized resistance impossible. That is why we see no change.

You are an ENABLER! Thanks you ones such as you the GOP can't be changed because your lips will be firmly placed on Dear Karl's GOP-E Romneyite butt.
