A few hours after the Minnesota Vikings reinstated running back Adrian Peterson, who was indicted in a child injury case in which he allegedly hit his 4-year-old son repeatedly with a tree branch, KHOU in Houston reported there was a separate incident last year in which Peterson allegedly hit his son and left a scar.
KHOU in Houston said Peterson hit a different 4-year-old son last year, leaving a scar on the boy's forehead. That can be used as evidence in the current investigation, the report said.
(Update: TMZ reported, citing sources, that the case "went nowhere" because he did not strike the child, but the child accidentally hit his head on a carseat while Peterson was punishing him.)

There is something wrong with guy, he seems to be an overgrown pro football playing kid with control issues and a lack of awareness of what he is doing to such small children, he should not be left alone with toddlers and 4 year olds.
He gave the other one a scar on his face?

Peterson: “Hit his head on the Carseat.”
Mother: “How does that happen, he got a whoopin in the car.”

Peterson: “I felt so bad. But he did it his self.”
The text messages go on to show Peterson saying he was disciplining his son for cussing to a sibling.
Mother: “What did you hit him with?”
Peter never directly answered, but later replied: “Be still n take ya whooping he would have saved the scare (scar). He aight (all right)””
Yeah the kid suffered an arm wound and learned a valuable cooking lesson and the father got jail time and hopefully learned a valuable parenting lesson. I guess it was win-win.

If any adult finds themselves with no other recourse than to dispense a blood drawing beating in an attempt to punish a child, then they have already failed as a parent. They should cease reproducing and polluting humanity and the gene pool with their seed.
My mother hit us with the first thing she could get her hands one. It might be a broom, a shoe, a spatula (what we used to call an “egg turner” or a “pancake turner”). Once she tried to whip me with a rubber band.
With that said, the wounds on that kid’s legs were severe.

There is nothing a 4 yr old could do that should lead to an adult whipping the tar out of the child. I don’t care if it is a woman or a man that is doing the beating. It’s not right, isn’t called for and should cause the adult to be charged w a crime. There is a difference between discipline and abuse. Open sores and bruising a week after the switching? That is abuse.
This incident has nothing to do w football...but we are hearing about it because the father is in the NFL. If the league isn’t careful....they may well get the odious rep that the NBA has due to their thug players.
Before I saw the pictures on a past thread, I thought that he had switched his 10 year old or something, and I posted how my mother made us cut our own switches and bring them to her, but this guy makes me angry, he is clueless and a brutal punk.
Peterson has seven children from seven different mothers.
Libs want every male black, white, brown, yellow and red to cower from women and children. They don’t really want any parent to be influential in their child’s life. The want to make it so the govt. can more easily come in and twist the children’s minds to be whatever it wants them to be.
I’m shocked that so many posting here know zero about switches and what happens when they are used. Must be a lot of Dr. Spock raised people here. He’s the one who started that never strike your child garbage and the messed up world we have is where that nonsense led.
Govt. and libs don’t want parents disciplining or feeding their children without govt. approval or the bleeding hearts will come out of the woodwork crying and screeching for the children. The biggest criers and screechers are the ones who have never had to raise children in their lives. They imagine children are little adults with their own opinions which should be considered as equal to the parents’ opinions. The biggest practice of abuse to them — homeschooling.
I’m with you. I can’t make heads or tails out of this endless TMZ scoops. Just imagine if they had a 10th of the interest in the real world and what is happening daily.

A child abuser, that’s who. I don’t know what make me more incensed...this thug or his defenders (that have seen the pics) who wax poetic about the nostalgia of beatings past. I wonder if they would defend the “loving” grandfathers of the past as well?
What do you have against grandfathers, and of what “past”?

I should have put a sarcasm tag, whereas “loving” was a term used to describe molesters in the past. (Grandfathers was just ancillary - nothing against a good grandparent))
Yes, I’ve seen the photos. Switches raise welts, even blood filled welts. They work like little whips. They always have. They are not some brand new invention. They have been around for centuries. As Charles Barkley said, there would be a whole lot of people in the South in jail if using a switch had been considered child abuse.
Once a child has experienced the switch they remember it for a very long time. Recidivism goes way down when a switch is employed. I’ve never heard of any child dying from being discipled with a switch. It would have been better for a very many people to have experienced a switch at home as a child than time in jail when they were older.
Did the boy deserve the switch? I don’t know what he did and it is none of my business. Could a four year old do anything worthy of a switch? Yes. Two year olds cussing out adults, a three year old stealing his parent’s car for a joyride twice, four year olds fascinated with fire attempting to set things ablaze are all worthy of switches. A baby who can’t walk or talk is too young, but a mobile child is capable of getting into many dangerous situations. They are too young to be reasoned with.
A hot stove doesn’t warn a little child saying, ‘I’m hot don’t touch.’ It burns and they learn not to touch. The child who hit his head while being disciplined was unfortunately scarred. Placing the child in the middle of cushions and pillows while throwing marshmallows at him would probably have kept him from getting scarred, but it would do nothing to help him learn whatever lesson he needed to learn.
It is amazing the number of people who believe in coddling children. Should they be given love and hugs and kisses? Yes, of course. But they need to learn early that there are rules o behavior and dangers and things that can harm them in our world. Children should learn from their parents, not nosy, prying people and govt.
I’ve seen more trouble from spoiled rotten children with over indulgent parents than from loving parents who are stern disciplinarians.
Four year olds don’t get bloodied and scarred, I never saw that in the days of switching, and I never got bloodied and scarred, nor did my friends, although switching was common.
You sound like a nut case, and it is interesting that you mention the stove and the child being burnt to learn a lesson.

I don’t recall that past where we called molesters “loving”, and of evil grandfathers.
