There is actually an entire Corps, the Chemical Corps, that is dedicated to this kind of struggle on the battlefield in case an enemy uses nuclear, biological, or chemical warfare against our troops.
So, there must be the capability to deal with this in our military.
The question is if this is the right time or place. If the world expert doctors dealing with it for humanitarian reasons are themselves getting infected, then we can pretty well count on some of our troops being infected.
Tragic as it may sound, until there is a certified way to fight this, then the world might be better served by quarantining that region of Africa and allowing no traffic in and no traffic out. A blockade.
