Two House Republicans are trying to stop the Obama administration from collecting information about the race or ethnicity of people who buy guns.
According to a report from the Washington Times, the ATF is requiring people to fill out a form when buying a gun that asks purchasers whether they are Hispanic or Latino, and then to identify themselves as being Indian, Asian, black, Pacific Islander or white.

I have been bidding government construction projects for 30 years. This is standard procedure in the reps and certs part of the contract.
I get this stuff all the time - I usually just check the
“decline to self identify” boxes
Just another way to collect information used by the feral government to keep us separated into identity groups they can manipulate and keep at each others throats.

The last thing the government wants is for the people to unite.
I’d either check “other” or write in “adopted mutt w a tan”.
That is what is causing this to become an issue.
The government modified the form to remove the "OTHER" box and there is no “decline to self identify” box.
Now every applicant must select a race and ethnicity - there is no other option.
If you leave it blank the FFL must reject your application.
If the FFL accepts it with a blank and sells you a weapon he can be fined or even lose his FFL license.

Its unlikely that the feckless GOP will stop anything.
What they need to do is STOP talking and start taking a stand on something. Anything.
The gov’t should stop asking about ethnicity for any purpose, anywhere.

The only thing it will prove is that there’s a vast difference between Black possession of firearms and Black ownership of firearms, when compared to the White population.
If you have ever filled out a mortgage loan application you have indicated your ethnic background. If you fail to do so the loan originator is required to make a visual determination and fill in the appropriate space.

As I’ve said before, and will continue to say it, “ANY ONE THAT IS STUPID ENOUGH TO REGISTER THEIR WEAPONS TO THIS GOVERNMENT, IS TOO STUPID TO OWN A WEAPON”. Any one that wants a weapon can acquire one without having to deal with an arms dealer. All anyone has to do is look at what happened to people that registered their weapons in Germany, before the advent of Adolph Hitler. They also had the “PROMISE” from their government, that their names will be held in “SECRET”. Let’s not even go that far. Just check out what happened right after the hurricane KATRINA. The New Orleans government sent their deputies to every home that had a “REGISTERED WEAPON” and confiscated the weapons. Was it unconstitutional? Yep. Was it illegal? Yep. BUT THE NEW ORLEANS GOVERNMENT DID IT ANY WAY. And there were no one to stop them. So, any of you very stupid people that still think they can trust this government, you had better think again.

It was on the last form I filled out to buy a gun.
After I filled out the form, the clerk called his supervisor over who then placed a template with holes cut out over the form to make sure nothing had been missed. I had put the initials of the state I was born in, they required me to then write the complete name of the state, date the change and initial it.
Oh for the good old pre-1968 days of cash and carry!

This is “small potatoes” by comparison to the CA DOJ’s DROS form. The FFL has to record the time you signed the DROS down to the SECOND, and then they post two times also DOWN TO THE SECOND 1. The earliest you can return to pick up your purchase (that’s ten days DOWN TO THE SECOND from when you signed) and 2. The Latest Time which you can still claim your purchase (that’s 30 days DOWN TO THE SECOND) from the time when you signed the DROS. If you fail to pick up your purchase within that window, you must start all over again. The only good news is that a Federal Judge in Fresno has just declared CA’s Ten Day Waiting Period to be Unconstitutional. Now we are left wondering how many months or years of legal contortions we will have to endure to see if this law is actually removed from the books.
Guess the ATF hasn’t found out yet that felons don’t buy gun at gun stores meme to ensue.
