Sarah Palin stumped for GOP Sen. Pat Roberts in Kansas Thursday morning, calling him a true conservative and hoping to give him an edge over an independent challenger.

“He is a conservative and he is what America needs,” the former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential nominee said.

The “independent” was a stalking horse for the Democrat Party, and as little or as much as you may like Pat Roberts, Roberts is about as close to a “conservative” as you are going to get in this race.

Did Karl Rove engineer this potential fiasco?

The independent is a Liberal and even though Roberts is not 100% conservative, he would be better than a Marxist wanna be.

Hopefully she’ll go back around Nov 1.

“snooker” - somehow, some leftist is going to say “that’s racist”.

No, Pat Roberts isn’t what America needs. But neither is Greg Orman. So please be open and honest with us and not praise an unpraiseworthy candidate. Just admit that he’s the lesser of two evils and leave it at that.

Roberts is a career politician, but he at least votes correctly.

It's perplexing how SP, like any other politician, occasionally turns off her main meme and endorses folks like Hatch and now Roberts. Not to mention an Arizona U.S. Senator.

I don't think it's for the money and any perceived future return on her favor to the GOPe, but...?

She wants a GOP Senate.

Really it's not so hard to understand.

Sarah’s just doing the right thing because that’s what she’s made of.

The things that make her happy in life don’t cost much money: family, sports, outdoors, snow, fishing, grandbabies... money and power can’t buy that for you.

I think she's made her obligatory drive-by for the Roberts campaign trying to appeal to Teaparty people. Roberts is much more anxious to be seen with Dole and McCain.

But probably not Jeb, who Tillis elbowed back on stage when he went to stump for him yesterday or today.

You could put a parrot on a chair and get it to vote correctly if you could pass the Constitutional requirements. That doesn't mean you have to be happy about it.

It truly is insane. Roberts came within 7 points of losing to Wolf last month. He know he needs the support of Wolf's voters in order to win. So who does he bring in to campaign with in order to win those voters back? McCain and Dole and Bush; the very image of what Wolf's supporters detest about the GOP. The GOPe is so completely blind to what a huge segment of the party wants that it isn't funny.

Of course vote for Roberts. Orman is one more vote for Dirty Harry as majority leader. We need to win every race, with xtra votes to spare. The senate landscape in 2016 is brutal.

Roberts is losing more of the mushy middle vote than he is the solid conservative vote. McCain, Dole, and Bush are what is needed to convince Kansas Republicans (a distinctly different bunch than those nationwide) to vote for Roberts instead of Orman. They love the idea of an “Independent” who will “fix” what’s wrong with Washington and turn it all into a Land of Oz where Dorothy and Toto can be happy ever after. But, when they find out that he is a Democrat, they won’t vote for him.
