Here’s how Alabama’s senators became major players in the GOP’s efforts to retake the senate

All eyes are on the 35 U.S. Senate seats up for grabs this year.

Republicans need to pick up 6 seats to regain the majority and the election map is tilted in their favor. 21 of the 35 seats in play are currently held by Democrats; 7 of the seats held by Democrats are in states that Romney won in 2012; and history shows that the minority Party normally gains 6 or more seats in a midterm election of a president’s second term.

Sen. Shelby is a fundraising juggernaut. For decades he has been one of the top fundraisers in American politics. His principle campaign account currently has more cash on hand than any other senator — just under $18 million. But it’s Sen. Shelby’s political action committee, Defend America PAC, that is most notable this election cycle.

Who are Shelby's donors?

I don't think Shelby will support amnesty between now and 2016 with Mo Brooks, Jeff Sessions and Gary Palmer around igniting the issue.

The so-called Conservative website Hot Air just sent me a fundraising email on behalf of the NRSC, aka, National Republican Surrender Caucus. Hot Air has turned out to be a troll cesspool on the comment sections and often posts polls favorable of homo-marriage and now, scare stories designed for you to give money to the RINO senate campaign.

I doubt that anyone here can name one conservative on their staff because I've been a member for a long time, and I can't name one. They are all disappointments to say the least.

Are you kidding. I always pull a tab of HotAir next to FR when I’m logged in. It’s a great site and those headlines are a killer.

3-4 seats will be all the GOPe will gain. They don’t want to win.

I got that email too.

Not sure if Hot Air sold their registration list to the DIABLOs or if the DIABLOs are just spoofing the Hot Air thing to try to fool people into thinking that it is from hot air... The domain registration details for ‘hotairemail.com’ from whence the email originated, is not the same as for hotair.com...

Either way, it made me very angry,

And Hot Air hasn’t been even remotely conservative since Michelle Malkin sold it to Salem.
It is slightly right of center, populist.... and their newest paid contributor is somewhat left of center.
