Two arrested in connection with protests of 'black mass' in Oklahoma City (Joan Andrews Bell!)

A woman — later identified as Joan Andrews — is arrested Sunday after refusing to leave the entrance to the “black mass” on the north side of Civic Center Music Hall during the event in Oklahoma City .

Two people were arrested in connection with protests outside of Sunday’s “black mass” in downtown Oklahoma City, and police received a bomb threat tied to the event, authorities said Monday.About 42 people attended the satanic ritual at the Civic Center Music Hall. Meanwhile, hundreds of people gathered outside the venue to decry the ritual being held inside. Despite a couple of arrests and the bomb threat, police said there were no major incidents associated with the black mass.

David Grisham, 53, of Texas, was arrested on complaints of disorderly conduct and failure to obey a fire or police official, which are both municipal charges.

Joan Andrews, 66, who police think is from Pennsylvania, was arrested on complaints of trespassing and interfering with official process, which are misdemeanor municipal charges.

Police said Andrews was kneeling by the building, apparently praying for the group inside. She did not have a ticket to be on the property, and police said she refused to leave when authorities asked her to.

Police said Andrews told authorities her name was Joan Bell, but she would not give them any additional information. She said her religion would not allow her to cooperate with a city that allowed Satan to be worshiped, police said.

Police said they think Andrews is a habitual protester who has been arrested more than 200 times.

A 1998 article published in the National Catholic Register talks about a woman named Joan Andrews Bell who had been arrested more than 200 times, including a 1985 arrest in a trespassing incident at a Pittsburgh abortion clinic.

An article posted on CatholicCulture.org mentions that a woman named Joan Andrews Bell and another individual barricaded themselves inside an examination room in the Women’s Health Services clinic. Andrews reportedly broke sterile seals while the other person plastered the walls with anti-abortion stickers, and they prayed together. They refused to leave and were arrested, the article states.

It is not clear whether that is the same Andrews who was arrested Sunday in Oklahoma City.

The woman who was arrested Sunday in Oklahoma City was being held in Oklahoma County jail on a $987 bond. She remained there Monday afternoon, Davis said. He added that Andrews would be eligible for release on her own recognizance if she hadn’t made bond yet after 24 hours, which would be in the early morning hours Tuesday.

Interfering with official process is a higher misdemeanor than Grisham’s offense, so Andrews will have to go to court, Davis said. A court date had not yet been assigned for her as of Monday afternoon, and Andrews could face the possibility of up to six months in jail, Davis said.

One of the best women in America. She's 66 years old, got arrested for kneeling and praying outside of the civic center where the Satanic Black Mass was held.

She is about as aggressive as a throw-rug --- but as strong as conscience, and as unrelenting.

they're saying that because she didn't comply when they told her to leave, she could get 6 months. If that happens, we should end hundreds of bouquets of roses to the jail.

She WAS Joan Andrews. When she married she took the name Joan Bell. The article tries to make it sound like she’s hiding something. Before she adopted children she spent a lot of time in rescues, peacefully preventing the mill to open, and refusing to comply with the gears of the system that protects the killing.

Wait! Wait! Joanie has never seen a jail she could not defeat. Sure we should send her roses. OTOH, what about the poor prison guards and authorities? They are not ready for Joanie. Too bad that Fr. Weslin is no longer physically available to help and be there with her.

Seriously is that anyway to arrest a 66 year old woman - to ‘Chicken Wing’ her?

Decry? Is that a new synonym for cower? They should have all gone to the exact spot where Joan was hauled away and gotten arrested. I expect we will see more of these Black Masses across the country, especially if the media continues to report on them.

At the very least, I hope they stood vigil outside the jail.

Good find, btw!

I seriously think the Catholics are being trolled by this whole ‘black mass’ thing. Who cares what these jerks do so long as it’s lawful and not disruptive to anyone else?

Last I checked people in this country are free to worship whatever and whoever they want and it’s none of anyone else’s business so long as that worship doesn’t affect anyone else. And in this case there’s a case to be made that the people at the black mass have had their rights violated.

Joan, and the entire Rescue Movement were treated like scum by the Catholic bishops. Thus, the LAST opportunity to end abortion peacefully was passed up.

In the intervening years, the bishops have done all they have dared (after all, Rome SOMETIMES notices what they do) to encourage Catholics to continue voting pro-abortion. And, of course, they have campaigned ceaselessly to bring in more and more pro-abortion voters from abroad.

The Catholic bishops ensured that abortion would only end, someday, by violence. Violence that will certainly destroy the United States as a political entity, and very likely physically destroy the American people.

Catholic bishops only want to do what is “lawful” and “legal”. In other words, they don’t want to put their butts on the line to save babies. They only want to take the easy route. How can you say you’re against the killing of babies and then knock those who are willing to go to jail to protect those little babies? If you don’t want to do it yourself, so be it. But why not support those that do?

I’m afraid I’m not following you reasoning. The people who wanted to have their Black Mass, had their Black Mass unperturbed-— in what way were their alleged rights violated?

And the cops were arresting people. That made them accomplices to abortions.

One of the ways of making oneself an accomplice to a crime is to REMOVE AN OBSTACLE that one knows is preventing the crime. That’s straight out of Thomas Aquinas, and civil law.

NOT ONE BISHOP ever spoke up to tell the police they were committing a crime by arresting pro-lifers.

But that’s the whole point: Men want to become bishops precisely because it places them ABOVE ALL LAW. Civil law. Moral law. Canon law.

Thanks for the ping! [The late] Fr. Weslin was a champion for life, of course, and this woman reminds me of him, but for myself, my prayers in the Adoration chapel, hidden from the public eye, are the best Power source I know of. Years ago, Tom, our daughter, and I, went to the many marches we had in our area and made these simple videos and put them to music. YouTube has taken off most of our [well.... not “our”] music, but this video still retains its soundtrack, so I’m putting up the link because tomorrow’s Reading is in this tune, “Turn, Turn, Turn,” by the Byrds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aV_4J7njZY

One of the things that I don’t get.

They have to get a consecrated Host in order to perform the Black Mass even though they don’t think the consecration is real.

What? That’s just....what?

If they want consecrated bread, the Methodists put it out for the birds every Sunday. Knock yourself out.

Well, the Satanists evidently do "believe". Even the demons "believe" --- and tremble.

They likewise know that the Methodists do not have, and do not claim to have, and have never claimed to have, Transubstantiation: the True Presence of Jesus Christ -- Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity --- together with the "true absence" of mere bread and wine, after the Consecration.

What remains is the appearance of bread and wine, while the Substance is the true Body --- as the hymn Ave Verum Corpus says of this Most Blessed Sacrament---

Hail,true Body
born of the Virgin Mary,
Who truly suffered,
sacrificed on the Cross for man,
Whose pierced side overflowed
with water and blood,
Be for us a foretaste [of the Heavenly Banquet]
In the trials of death.

Satan knows this. If you want a true Eucharist or, on the other hand, a true exorcism, you call a Catholic priest.

It’s done by the Satanists as a finger in the eye of the Christians. Because the eucharist is so important to Catholics, that is what they flout. And they would not want a Methodist one, which Catholics do not regard as worthy of the veneration.

Never fear, however, Satanists have also caught up with the focus of the Reformation — there’s a Satanic Bible now.

So the Satanists believe in Transubstantiation?

If they are hard core driven by the devil AND if transubstantiation is true, that would be an explanation.

I think it’s simpler. The Eucharist is a special focus by Catholics. That’s why Satanists flout it. It’s like the most revered thing in Catholic worship.

Reformation Christians are a little more slippery target.. The bible is probably the most noticeable focus of their attention. Even though the crucified Christ figures very prominently to them, symbols of this Christ are not concentrated upon.

In other words, I think these Satanists are amateurs. They are about as serious as Halloween revelers. They get their jollies out of upsetting Christians and other people.

If they got serious about Satan, their demeanor would change. They’d be sneakier, subtler, and much more slippery.

There were bishops, few but some, who actively participated in Rescues. Austin Vaughan, Auxiliary Bishop of the New York Archdiocese, was jailed on several occasions. After his lengthiest stay in the NY state hotel or local hoosegow, he came out of the jail and held a press conference. The NY Post headline on the front page: Mario Cuomo is going straight to hell.

Hartford Archbishop John Whealon was a strong supporter of Rescue and Rescuers in Connecticut. He successfully called the US Civil Rights Commission in to investigate the West Hartford Police Department after a festival of anti-Rescuer violence, the likes of which had never previously or since been seen in Connecticut. There was a reasonably full investigation including forcing the thug police chief to testify in DC. No punishment but the Commission made plain that it was not pleased with such police behavior. Archbishop Whealon explained in his archdiocesan newspaper that he was essentially a liberal Democrat by belief and that the Democrats had, in his view, been right on "all the little issues" while being totally wrong on the two major issues of American history: slavery and abortion. Therefore, he became a registered Republican and appeared with Ronaldus Maximus and George H. W. Bush in their POTUS campaigns before the archbishop died in 1991.

John Cardinal O'Connor was none too pleased with West Hartford police brutality perpetrated against some of the Catholic pro-lifers from his archdiocese. He sent his lawyer/niece to observe and inform him of the goings on. He successfully urged long-time Staten Island Republican Congressman Guy Molinari to get involved in demanding a US Civil Rights Commission investigation.

There have always been many pro-life ministries and those who pray at Adoration Chapels are as important to that movement as anyone else. We shall never know until we die how many were saved by prayer. We know that God will put those prayers to their best use as only He can judge.

The Rescuers tended to be elderly or very young, more likely unmarried or without children or other family members dependent on them for care. Some were converted to pro-life activity after having had an abortion. Most were or had become quite religious. They tended to be quite committed to non-violence and creative in their methods of resisting abortion. They were remarkable and loving people. Joan Andrews Bell, as a young woman, was among the earliest of them and was a veteran of the civil rights and anti-war movements as were many early Rescuers.

One arrestee in West Hartford was the retired Auxiliary bishop of Raleigh, North Carolina, Bishop George Lynch, an elderly hero, then residing with his elderly sister in NYC. Fr. Weslin was also arrested in the West Hartford Rescues.

Joan Andrews Bell and Fr. Norman Weslin spent years as courageous and legendary pro-lifers. I think Fr. Weslin's last arrest (in his 80s and afflicted with Parkinson's and early stage Alzheimer's) was on the campus of Notre Shame University for carrying a cross on campus on the day when Obozo was the commencement speaker. Norma McCorvey was with him that day but the university did not dare to arrest her. That tells us what is running Notre Shame.

May God bless you and yours!

Bishop MacDonald of Little Rock supported one of his priests who got arrested. Bishop Paul Dudley sent a check to “We Will Stand Up,” an effort (almost completely successful) to shut down all abortion clinics in the cities visited by JPII in 1987.

The chancellor of the Diocese of Columbia (in S. Carolina) asked one of the organizers, “Why can’t we just have peace while the Pope is here?” She responded, “Oh? So when babies are being killed, that’s ‘peace’?”

But no bishop issued a pastoral letter instructing the police that it was a criminal act and a mortal sin to remove obstacles (people) who were preventing an abortion.

It would have been appropriate for the bishops’ conference to issue such a statement. It would have changed American history.

JPII was well-informed about the Rescue Movement, but he never made a supportive statement, or one instructing the police that they were making themselves accomplices in abortions—which they were.

Archbishop John May of Saint Louis was probably the worst. He repeatedly condemned the rescue movement on television and in his newspaper column.

We had a President at the time who did not persecute the pro-life movement. Under Reagan, the feds went after bombers, but not other pro-lifers.

It was an opportunity to end abortion without violence, and the bishops, in general, chose the side of the abortionists.
