Unrepentant Ted Cruz Calls Democrats the ‘Radical Party’
The Wall Street Journal ^ | Sep 26, 2014 12:30 pm ET | Beth Reinhard

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s speech to hundreds of conservative activists on Friday amounted to a dare to other potential Republican candidates in 2016: Just try to get to the right of me. Just try it.

Mr. Cruz called for abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, getting rid of the Common Core educational standards and repealing the Affordable Care Act. He defined himself as staunchly anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage and pro-Israel.

“There are people in Washington who say Republicans to win have to abandon our values,” he said, as members of the audience shouted “No way!” and “It’s a lie!”

While polls last year showed that last year’s government shutdown hurt the Republican Party’s image, Mr. Cruz has been unapologetic about his role. He reminded the crowd that this week marked the one-year anniversary of his 21-hour speech on the Senate floor that helped lead congressional Republicans towards a budget showdown over the Affordable Health Care Act.

“The modern Democratic party has become an extreme, radical party,” Mr. Cruz said.

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

No truer words have been spoken. The radical fascist wing of the Democrat party has long since purged the last of the democrats.

The shutdown only hurt the Republican party’s image because one, the media refused (as usual) to report the truth, such as closing memorials to vets costing more than to have let them remain open, and two, because the GOPe tried to distance itself from Cruz and doing the right thing, like the unprincipled cowards that they are.

Unrepentant Ted Cruz Calls Democrats the ‘Radical Party’

From the headline alone, I can tell where Beth Reinhard aligns, politically.

There is no need for Cruz to 'repent'.

There is no need for quotes around 'Radical Party'.

Thank God for Senator Ted Cruz!

One of those very rare politicians that speak truth and don't apologize for doing so. I hope he runs for president in 2016. It would be the opportunity to demolish the 'establishment' wing of the GOP once and for all, as they will do everything to stop Cruz. He'll win, anyway.

About damn time! The entire Apology Culture must be consigned to the dustbin.

Yes. People on the right who up until even just a decade or two ago would have been considered just normal patriotic Americans, have been marginalized and characterized as “the fringe” by both the media and the GOPe. It’s the left and the GOPe which moved towards the fringes, not us.

The other day I saw on twitter where some liberal moron was complaining that she couldn’t believe Adam Baldwin was an “Out and proud” conservative like it was something he should be ashamed of.

Cruz is quite correct. Calling the current Democrats “liberals” or “activists” is inaccurate, because they are “radicals” and “agitators”.

The changeover of the Democrat party began in 1968 at their national convention. Their “liberal” wing was inside, controlling the process, and their “radical” wing was outside, rioting in the street. Chicago Mayor Daley backed the “liberal” wing, so he ordered his police to attack the radicals.

Growing in strength, and aided by both the unpopularity of the Vietnam War and Watergate, the radicals were finally able to take over the Democrat party in 1972, and purge the remaining “liberals” and “moderates” from their leadership positions.

The immediately petitioned their allies in the media to no longer call them “radicals” or “agitators”, but to instead call them “liberals” and “activists.” For a long time, even the word “liberal” was so despised by the public that the Democrats stopped using it as a self descriptor.

Since then, the Democrat party has exclusively backed the radical agenda, using their tools of hate, anger, and agitation to advance it. They have purged the last vestiges of the liberals and moderates from the party, to make it a lock-step organization, subdivided only by its big city machine factions.

In practice, its behavior is little different from an organized crime syndicate, with various “Capos” vying with each other to become the godfather.

Nice to hear a republican using the rhetoric of the crypto Marxist democrat s...

Their alinsky strategy is too marginlize republicans by calling them radicals all the while projecting what they really are

He could have strengthened his argument a bit more by declaiming “The modern Democratic party has become an extreme, radical, communist, jihad-loving, anti-freedom, soft-on-defense party that would abolish our national borders and make us totally subservient to OWG.

Well said.

It’s extraordinary that we, as a country and culture have allowed this cancer to grow within virtually every public institution.

The foundations of this radical cancer seem to have been built over the years and have advanced on multiple fronts. Each front slowly gaining footholds that allow another front to advance.

In the early phase it was “anti-government”, anti-establishment” and the promotion of a “counter culture”. Now, they are the Government, the establishment and the culture.

Extraordinary.
