Oh, you are right. I did find a one way from Monrovia, Liberia, for $1700. However, that is considerably more than the $600 I originally quoted—I stand corrected.
If he left with short notice with multi-entry visa, it would cost him $5,700 RT and he still would have been denied entry with a one way ticket. Where did he get the money?
He would not have been allowed entry to the USA with a one-way ticket on a tourist visa.
It would not surprise me to find out that the administration tracked this guy from the time he left Liberia, until he showed back up to the hospital on the 26th.
