This Oct. 2, 2014 photo shows a copy of a passenger health screening form filled out by Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan, which was obtained by the Associated Press from the Liberia Airport Authority. Liberia plans to prosecute Duncan, who brought Ebola into the U.S., alleging that he lied on a health questionnaire about not having any contact with an infected person, authorities said Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014.

Duncan lied.

Read both pages of article for jaw dropping comments by CDC Frieden.

"This is a big spider web" of people, Neroes said spokeswoman for the Dallas County Health and Human Services.

Just to point this out....but the whole entry program....even for Americans coming back into the country....is bogus.

They ask that you just note yes or no....if you came into contact with someone. Basically, you’ve just left some place in the middle of bad mess, and the last thing you want is someone denying you entry into a safe place.

At this point, I think you need to limit all entry into the US to just five or six airports...ship everyone coming in....to some camp...and quarantine you for 15 days. We’ll probably charge you $500 for the food and bunk, but I don’t see how you avoid not doing it this way.

“Liberia plans to prosecute Duncan, who brought Ebola into the U.S., alleging that he lied on a health questionnaire about not having any contact with an infected person...”

I read a statement like this and thorughly understand why Africa is fundamentally incapable of dealing with this (or any other) disease.

I’ve been wondering something. There are armed police outside the families apartment. What are the rules of engagement? What if the family says screw it, we’re leaving? The rules of engagement in west Africa in similar situations are shoot to kill..

pepsionice: Yup. Desperate people do desperate things. What I don’t get is this idiot exposed his kid and relatives. I think the cat is out of the bag now. Even my liberal Obama lover friends can’t explain why the King is letting in all types of infected illegals. My one friend, a woman with a very small kid is afraid of that lung/polio like virus going around. She lives in Tucson...

PilotDave: Rules of engagement if the idiot illegals (just a guess there) decide that they want to go to the movies or a local hang out? Same as the Secret Service at the White House. Nothing to see here...move along.

The entire family should have been taken to a secure containment facility — even a commandeered school gym... Given new clothes ... all discarded clothing and bedding burned in a controlled manner... Then each and ever family member given physicals ... Give them as much humane conditions at possible - screening and privacy, things to distract them - controlled TV, etc., decent food, provide any facility, cooking, bathing that normally all of us have... no luxuries ... all monitored by a medical team.. then the apartment and the area around it totally fumigated by a real Hazmat team ... that is just for starters...

Another thing, this quarantine is basically a death sentence for these people. Making them stay in that apartment, which has NOT been cleaned according to CDC guidelines and is surely dripping with Ebola, almost guarantee’s 100% infection rate! I wouldn’t want to stay there if I thought there was a chance I wasn’t infected.

The CDC director should resign.

I had been thinking about this too, and think this scenario is likely to play out as the woman quarantined is already complaining and she has 20 days to go. I read an article where she stated that “surely her time for being infected must be over”

It appears that culturally African people have a great misunderstanding and disbelief of modern science and this is why this outbreak is so widespread. Even after Ebola reached Monrovia the government could not stop people from eating potentially infected bush meat, they just don’t believe it harbors the virus. West Africans in the USA still have all the cultural beliefs of West Africans.

The question of what will this lone guard do if these people try to make a break for it is a good one and I hope he/she has a plan. Initially, she will probably continue calling the good Mr. Cooper at CNN and complaining, which I’m sure the CDC is ecstatic about.

excellent question
the ARMED plice are there because the family did violate orders and did leave.
now if they are stupid enough to try to leave the police will stop them with taser.
may sound cold but the police shouldn’t be touching them

These yahoos in Dallas are going to fool around and allow the virus to spread even more. Take them down to NASA in Houston. They have some hands on experience on how to quarantine astronauts.

In the meantime maybe the CDC will have time to organize itself and plan some effective quarantine guidelines and housing centers. They didn’t hesitate to find housing for the illegal children did they.

And Houston, don’t bitch about getting the Ebola crowd sent your way. After all, you are a sanctuary city for illegals and a home for the perpetual Katrina victims.

Dear wife has the best solution. Before they are so sick it is noticeable, send them over to join ISIS.

The inverse of the that idea would be just as likely, given the soiled items from the apartment to which this family remains confined, has yet to be professionally decontaminated.

See post 11 Longfellowsmuse & consider this woman's frustration and lack of understanding of the consequences of her impatience.

Then consider the possibilities of the potential harm which can be caused by any contaminated item being repurposed:

"I read a statement like this and thorughly understand why Africa is fundamentally incapable of dealing with this (or any other) disease."

Haven't been payin' attention, huh?

If you had, you'd know that Nigeria handled it just fine.

In fact, their former director of National Health has contacted me, offering a lucrative deal requiring little actual work from me.

Liberia, Guinea, SL are hopeless, but Nigeria.....great job.

Another question. If they are forced to quarantine in an Ebola infected apartment, how can the quarantine ever end? They could get infected today, tomorrow or for several more days in the future? Until they are moved to an Ebola free space you can’t really start the 21 day clock!
This quarantine is almost criminal in its mishandling.

I give the CDC five days before they cave to her whining. The government always caves. She'll be out squeezing tomatoes and sniffing cantaloupes at the grocery store, the kid will be sweating all over the school gym and the adult nephews will be making up for lost time with their girlfriends before you know it. Nothing to see. Move along. The government will save us all.
