There are many permutations in the current popular media which are based on or permutations of Jan Gross’s Neighbors. Which is a repeat of the same group lies developed by Nazi and Soviet propaganda efforts 75 years ago to disparage the Poles and isolate them from popular support in the West.
If you want to read a serious book on Jedwabne, read Jan Marek Chodakiewicz, The Massacre in Jedwabne. It is 180 pages of text and discussion, supported by 90 pages of endnotes.

I know from personal sources that the anti-Semitism there is considerable.
Glenn Beck should not apologize. Poland should not be let off the hook despite the furious efforts of you and others to cover up Poland’s sorry history in the holocaust. It is not for nothing that the late Israeli Prime Minister Shamir said that antisemitism is “mother’s milk of Poles” or something to that effect. He may well have been thinking of his polish father who escaped the death trains only to be murdered by his fellow Poles (so-called childhood friends).
From the poles or their apologists concerning the treatment of Jews during WWII, we not only have holocaust denial, but post holocaust denial!

Both “Nazis” and Soviets were extensively using divide & conquer tactic during WW2, in result you could find a lot of nasty behavior on both sides. For example, Gestapo was running a unit of Jews posing as ghetto escapees and turning in Goys willing to shelter them.
All gowns up with some clue about history are aware of that. Apparently some childish xenophobes still aren't...

A lot of the charges by American and British newspapers and government officials which were brought about by Soviet spies and fellow travelers. Remember the Soviets had spies and supporters like New York times reporter Walter Duranty and Alger Hiss, a senior State Department official under President Franklin Roosevelt. Your point is well taken. The one thing the Soviets understood about Poland was the attachment of the people to the Church. This is why so many of the attacks on the Polish people also involve attacks against the Church. They habitually try to tie the Church to antisemitism or fascism. This is a tact they took in the Spanish Civil War (Franco was not a Fascist), against the Poles, and against the Church at large after the War.
This is true. The Left-Wing New York Times was a big Soviet supporter and made sure to degrade the victims of the Soviet Union like Ukraine and Poland.
Its amazing how the Leftist New York Times Anti-Polish propaganda sounds so similar to Glenn Beck’s Anti-Polish propaganda when supposedly Glenn Beck does not like the New York Times.

Your detailed catalog of facts and considered & balanced truth-telling is a very useful one-stop-shop for many of us who are fighting the all-too-frequent appearances of anti-Polish comment and sentiment.
I am one of those, via the Polish Media Issues (PMI) Group, who do not wish to let the Nazi German, Soviet Russian, and other propagandists get away with present-day slandering and libelling of the heroic, and literally death-defying, achievements of Poland and Poles during, and after, WWII.
