Its only been a month or so. Election campaigns have to be at least three weeks long in the UK.
He isn’t the first fourth party candidate to win a seat, there have always been other parties like Plaid Cymru, SNP, the Northern Irish MPs and Brighton (notoriously liberal and the UK equivalent of San Fransisco) elected a Green candidate at the 2010 general election.
