That 13 hours of music by Richard Rogers is a signal work of 20th Century American Culture - in today's PC environment, you have to hunt it out.
To his credit, Robert Shafer, the Music Director of the Oratorio Society of Washington featured a suite from "Victory At Sea" in one of our concerts.
This generation - they've been systematically shielded from from any examples of American exceptionalism.
A great wrong that must be redressed!

IRC, those guys were self trained guitarists from the out-lands of Brazil who supposedly found a guitar in the forest.
Don't know how much credit to put in that story, but their music, wherever they developed it, was great.
