The riddle of black America’s rising woes under Obama
Financial Times ^

Posted on 10/13/2014 5:50:19 AM PDT by bryan999

A paradox haunts America’s first black president. African-American wealth has fallen further under Barack Obama than under any president since the Depression. Yet they are the only group that still gives him high ratings. So meagre is Mr Obama’s national approval rating that embattled Democrats have made him unwelcome in states that twice swept him to power. Those who have fared worst under Mr Obama are the ones who love him the most. You would be hard-pressed to find a better example of perception-driven politics. As the Reverend Kevin Johnson asked in 2013: “Why are we so loyal to a president who isn’t loyal to us?”

The problem has taken on new salience with the resignation of Eric Holder. America’s first black attorney-general has tried to correct the gulag-sized disparities in prison sentencing between blacks and whites. His exit leaves just two African-Americans in Mr Obama’s cabinet. Given the mood among Republicans, it is hard to imagine the US Senate confirming a successor to Mr Holder who shares his priorities.

What's the mystery? Liberal policies screw the poor over and over again, and black people vote almost exclusively based on race.

You don't need the Scooby gang to solve this riddle.

The dilemma is that to not follow Obama, they must admit to inequality.

Barack Obama is simply not up to the task and thus not equal to other Presidents. Blacks think in racial terms and then equate that inequality to them selves.

That thought can never be considered so, they cling to Obama

QED

If you were to tell a black Obama follower this, he would first call you a racist and second, blames his woes on evil white Republicans. So many still think Obama can do no wrong.

What's that old quote about P.T. Barnum (not actually spoken by Barnum, as most people think). Hmmm, let me think...

Oh yeah, "There's a sucker born every minute." (and who knows how many aborted every minute)

The libtards were right for once, being “racist” does not pay, and so all that importance on race that blacks supposedly subscribe to has lead to increasing woes. Whod a thunk it?

Two changes in national policies will be required to reenable measurable improvements in the standard of living for black (as well as white, pink, blue and purple) Americans.

1. Policies that encourage rather than discourage the formation of stable families.

2. Policies, primarily tax policies, that encourage capital investment and employment.

Since the current political environment favors the exact opposite of these policies I have very little hope that that there will be any significant improvement in the average standard of living for blacks in the near future.

If you happen to be white, pink, blue or purple your prospects are no better.

Yes, but “gays” are getting their “rights” and fuel prices are skyrocketing to combat “climate change.” Isn’t that what they really wanted???

There’s no riddle. Unlike most other folk they are getting exactly what they voted for.

Anybody, white or black, who believed the Obama hype was very foolish, if not stupid and evil.

Providing welfare, food stamps, money cards, telephones, etc does not provide the necessary impetus to climb the ladder. Not to mention the COMPLETE failure of the public education system, we have not helped the underprivileged help themselves get ahead.

Liberal polices keep people down and Blacks haven't yet discovered that the very people they support harm them.

Bingo! Check out the dictatorships of the African countries. Once a leader gets in, he has nothing but contempt for his ‘brothers’. Marion Barry, while offering excellent lip-service to his constituents, ran the place like a tyrant. And the DC blacks revered him like a tribal leader who could do no wrong.

and black people vote almost exclusively based on race.

The author, who doesn't understand that, is being willfully obtuse.

Writer is a clown.

Thesis: No one can honestly blame Obama. Blacks know that racist Republicans have blocked all his policies to help blacks.

“If you were to tell a black Obama follower this, he would first call you a racist and second, blames his woes on evil white Republicans.”

The media has perpetuated this lie; Obama (and by proxy black America) is failing because his utopian visions are being sidetracked by evil white Republicans. In reality, Obama was the perfect tool to sink blacks further into dependence and misery for the Poverty Industry.

White liberals who foolishly believed that the election of a token negro would fix race relations now have to face the fact that they’re just as likely to get “fergusoned” as any white conservative.

Idiots. There’s no riddle. The poorest always take the first and biggest hits in a failing economy. And in this case, the economic destruction has been deliberately perpetuated by Obama as one of the many legs of his purposeful destruction of the United States.

Given the mood among Republicans, it is hard to imagine the US Senate confirming a successor to Mr Holder who shares his priorities.

So now Holder gets to continue his racist anti-Constitutional agenda while being immune to removal, or even criticism, because he can say: "It's not MY fault that the Republicans won't allow a successor to take my place, even though I'd love to leave."

He can go on like that for two more years.

There are many examples of refugees coming to this country with nothing (not even speaking the language) and in a few short years of hard work able to make it in our society. Their children even going further.

The real question then is why “African Americans” can not do the same. To ask the question is to be labeled “racist” so the question is not asked nor answered. Until it can be asked without charges of racism being used to silent the person doing the asking, the situation with American “blacks” will not change.
