It’s actually Hotel California Airlines: Where the passengers check in, but they don’t check out.
Mirrors on the ceiling. Pink ebola on ice...
Already happening in Liberia. Doctors and nurses are saying "FTS!" and getting the hell outta Dodge leaving patients to fend for themselves (or wait for our 101st Airborne to take care of them --like we've been told repeatedly they won't be doing). Many of these fleeing healthcare workers are likely infected and don't even know it.
Anyways, great blog you linked to. I look forward to reading it more in-depth.
Thanks. The guy is very good at tearing apart the absurd statements of the government regarding Ebola - I’d love it if he got some TV time so that 10 or 20 million people could learn that they are being lied to.
Everyone is off the plane. First class passengers were not screened...waved in.
I thought the Saudis were not allowing West Africans to make the Hajj.
_______________
Who said they were West Africans? Just a new version of the Moslim bombers.
The hypothesis was that the sick pax had made the Hajj together and had caught Ebola from fellow Hajjers. Unlikely, because:
This is a total political disaster for dems.
Just crazy - just because they were first class doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be screened!
@BostInno
UPDATE: Mass General confirms it’s taken 3 of 5 passengers from Emirates flight 237
They all became ill at the same time, but we know the incubation period is highly variable.
Unless middle easterners are still wiping with their right hands, that would change everything, of course.
That's true, but the political cost (and the cost in bodies) to force that on the government is WAY too high. Flights will not be banned unless there is a military coup in the United States.
A thirty-day quarantine is legal, and would save just as many (American) lives as a travel ban. The Commissioned Corps, USPHS has 6000 officers on duty to carry it out. It is more feasible, politically, than a travel ban.
So, push for quarantine. As long as Obama is President and (Dem) and (Rep) together have majorities in the House and Senate, advocating for a travel ban is pissing in the wind.
That vertical face mask doesn’t seem to give much protection.
Stuff can fall from above and land on their eyelashes and noses.
If that mask curved over their heads then it would appear safer.
If I had to use that masks, I’d use duct tape to secure it to the head wear.
That one was working on a medical ship off the West African Coast. High fever.
Jim, I’m not sure why you think it would take a lot of new bodies to deny boarding.
People have to have a passport. If they don’t have one, they can’t board. If they’re from certain no-fly countries, why would it take more people just to deny them access?
You missed my reference to “bodies”.
The government of the United States, Republicans and Democrats both, are dead set against a flight ban. Boehner and McConnell would rather die than agree to it. In order to impose a ban by political pressure (e.g., to force them what they do not want to do) will take months, and in those months, many infected West Africans will enter the United States and bodies will pile up. In fact, the only way to bring enough political pressure to achieve a flight ban, is to accept thousands of American dead on our soil.
A quarantine order is achievable. It exists in our laws. There is a branch of the government charged with carrying it out. The personnel are in uniform and drawing salaries. Most importantly, a 30-day quarantine would save exactly as many American lives as a flight ban, at much less political cost, and therefore could be done sooner. And time is of the essence.
Good talking to you, DoughtyOne.
Thank you Jim.
Jim, I’m not familiar with the service you reference. I can’t imagine McConnell or Boehner thinking housing people for 21 to 42 days would be better than a simple temporary ban for a few months.
On top of that, where do you keep these people? Do you keep them separate from each other? Do they mingle? If they weren’t kept separate this would just be an incubator.
Once you had infected people, you’d already have a hole new set of problems.
If you did keep them separate, you’d have acute anxiety issues. Some people can’t take that sort of thing.
I don’t know. Others have obviously given it a lot more thought than me if they already have a staff ready.
Thanks for the mention.
What exactly is the “ political cost” of a flight ban, a buck fifty?
Multiple bleeping times a day. Just the money wasted alone is insane even if none of these have ebola.
But some are gonna.
