That’s scary.
I did. First result for ZMapp: "ZMapp is an experimental biopharmaceutical drug..."
You're saying it's not experimental?
They are always looking for one-way drivers to 1) move inventory to places where they need cars, and 2) get rid of body-damaged cars and "put them" in the rental lots in the armpits of the car-rental world.
Maybe one is close to you?
Isn’t that the doctor who went into a rant about vaccines for ebola?
Alter, I am asking this in all seriousness and because I am interested in your answer.
Let’s say that: (1) this virus makes its way into NYC via a person who then proceeds to ride the subways; they are usually packed and (2) the condition of the infected person is such that transmission of the virus is possible in very close quarters. I believe this scenario is entirely possible. My questions: (1) how do you imagine tracking down the people who MIGHT have been exposed to quarantine them (2) how far do you go with the quarantine - to the people with whom they share an apartment or office building or office space and (3) what about subsequent subway riders in the same car?
I look forward to your comments. Thanks.
That may very turn out to be true, and if so, there is not a lot that can be done to effectively stop the spread short of quarantining every person everywhere. With that said, many people have turned irrational with fear; a situation that is only going to get worse as millions of people come down with "Ebola like symptoms" over the next few months caused by the common norovirus, which also produces fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Indeed, I expect this irrational fear to overwhelm our fragile healthcare system over the next few months with thousands of false alarms.
I would take it this story—including Yale’s idiotic approach—may be relevant here:
Anyone, no matter what citizenship, who has been anywhere near the hot zone should be put into quarantine for at least 30 days before setting foot on our streets.
Interesting—could you steer us to any sources on that?
"The patient is reportedly one of the three Yale University researchers who recently returned from West Africa. The grad students had offered to voluntarily sequester themselves for three weeks upon their return. They were told that it would not be necessary. The universitys school of public health said in a letter to students and staff Monday that the doctoral students did not have contact with Ebola patients or health care providers treating those with the deadly disease."
Picture captioned "Yale-New Haven Hospital Ready For Potential Ebola Cases" Uh, NOOOOOOT!
Captioned "Members of Bellevue Hospital staff wear protective clothing as they demonstrate how they would receive a suspected Ebola patient on October 8, 2014 in New York City." We're sooooo doomed. This morning on FOX, Bellevue was being praised for their protocol. http://blog.ctnews.com/newsdesk/2014/10/16/report-possible-ebola-case-at-yale-new-haven-hospital/
Press conference scheduled for 12;30.
Press reports- he and ANOTHER researcher from Yale offered to quarantine themselves when they came back for Liberia ..Yale told them not necessary.
Sure. Start here and make sure you click or google their references and cites.

yeah here is the article...
Two Yale researchers helping in the fight against Ebola in Liberia have safety returned home; however, the University is no longer asking the two to sequester themselves for 21 days. Its unnecessary, according to Yale University.
Originally, the Yale Daily News reported the two agreed to isolate themselves for three weeks to ensure the safety of students and staff, but after careful consideration and after speaking with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the University concluded that was too extreme and rather the two will take some time to recover from their travels.
The two researchers are part of the Yale School of Public Health. They arrived in Liberia last month and were helping to combat the Ebola epidemic by setting up a computer system for the Liberian Ministry of Health to monitor the disease.
The two did not come into contact with anyone who had the disease or any healthcare personnel who were treating Ebola patients.
According to Yale University the students will be in close contact with medical personnel and follow CDC recommendations which includes monitoring for signs and symptoms of Ebola for three weeks.
Its unknown exactly when the researchers will return back to their studies but they have requested privacy as they return to their normal lives.
Well. ..that’s good news. They didn’t come into contact with any Ebola patients.
No way my kid is getting on an airplane. He doesn’t come home for TG but he will be driving home for Christmas from Tx. He is in Longview. Hopefully this obola thing ends soon.
Great, thanks.
Your welcome...
True dat...lol
I have one in law school @ Lewis & Clark, Portland, and one @ UMN, Twin Cities.
Thanks for the Ping. I heard they are moving first nurse now too. Texas Health employees are refusing to deal with this again after CDC putting them all at risk. This is the local rumor because the hospital cited ‘staffing problems’. I think we will see all future Ebola patients being flown to the level 4 bio hazard hospitals around country. This will be a good thing and nothing Obama can do to stop it! Thank God or he would try. Texas Health Hospital will be ruined by this outbreak and will probably have to close for good. We can’t have all of our hospitals being contaminated like this around the country.
