Then you will get Ebola. Your quoted ent of horrible things must be fulfilled.

Just kidding. Getting hit by a bus must have sucked.

Not confirming but sounds like it...from presser.

2:3 YNHH is well equipped for and prepared to care for this patient in a safe way that will not impact any other patients in the Hospital.

Reading #yale. They’re saying they DON’T think it’s Ebola ..abundance of caution etc.

Interesting.

few tidbits...

Harp says she’s been contacted by the US HHS secretary and that Feds will help the city if it’s Ebola

YNH CMO says they were aware of it “yesterday afternoon and evening”

Infectious disease doctor at YNH: Responders wore Level 3 suits

The patient was self-monitoring and let a primary care provider know about a fever.

more from presser..

Harp: LCI is looking into sanitizing the patients home

CMO: Can’t say if the person has kids or a family

2 nurses b/c one caring for the patient and the other watching taking on and off gear

CMO: 2 round the clock attending physicians for the patient. Trying to minimize that number. 2 individual nurses as well.

CMO and infectious disease doc: testing being done by unnamed Mass. lab, one of a small number nationwide

CMO: Ebola is not airborne. And we also don’t have confirmation that this case is Ebola

That's not my field and you should really talk to an epidemiologist. But here's my understanding: there's no perfect way to track down every possible contact, but generally the contacts who are harder to track down are also the people the least likely to contract the illness.

Also very few contacts actually get ebola - only two contacts per patient, on average, and those are generally people in very close contact to the patient - family members or healthcare workers. Compared to other common diseases, that's not very transmissible.

Malloy continues to emphasize connection with West Africa and symptoms . 1st test on Yale patient due by 4 pm. If negative, patient is safe.

That and even the possibility of cleaning the patients’ home seem indicative. Why would that even come up til after 4 pm?

Seems a lot bigger deal being made of this than some other false alarms but then again it’s a university campus.

Thank you for monitoring the press conference.

On another note... I wonder whether someone with real, really available money, is currently setting up more labs for Ebola testing.

Test back negative per Yale!

So all the people wanting to use “God and Ebola at Yale” for their reports are stuck.

http://6abc.com/health/preliminary-tests-on-conn-patient-negative-for-ebola/353133/

Updated 5 mins ago
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Preliminary test results on a patient at Yale-New Haven Hospital have come back negative for Ebola, a state official said.

A patient was admitted Thursday with Ebola-like symptoms, and is listed in stable condition.

Gov. Dannel Malloy had said earlier that if the first test proved negative, there would be no need for a second test.

But out of an abundance of caution, a second test is being done.
