WASHINGTON Beneath the calming reassurance that President Obama has repeatedly offered during the Ebola crisis, there is a deepening frustration, even anger, with how the government has handled key elements of the response.
Those frustrations spilled over when Mr. Obama convened his top aides in the Cabinet room after canceling his schedule on Wednesday. Medical officials were providing information that later turned out to be wrong. Guidance to local health teams was not adequate. It was not clear which Ebola patients belonged in which threat categories.
Its not tight, a visibly angry Mr. Obama said of the response, according to people briefed on the meeting. He told aides they needed to get ahead of events and demanded a more hands-on approach, particularly from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He was not satisfied with the response, a senior official said.

nyt lies.
Here is a clue Obama.... When you hire lackeys, yes men and value loyalty over competence in your direct reports...
You get a cluster——over and over again...
You have no one to blame but yourself...
Exactly how I read it.
He can’t stand it that nobody is buying the bull he is trying to sell us.
This is the guy who like LBJ did boasts about “EVERYTHING HAS TO GO THROUGH ME”.
Why?
Because people aren’t dying of Ebola fast enough to suit him?
because of the fact that he can’t hide dead bodies, this is one crisis he won’t escape.
That’s exactly my take on this article, too. Doing a CYA for O’Bola.
Nah. Alan Colmes dropped his, “But what about Bush?!” schtick long enough to say, “But what about Reagan’s failure to contain AIDS?!”
"Buck? What buck? The buck never reached *my* desk!"
My read...
Intentionally leaked story.
Same narrative as every other time these incomprehensible buffoons let something manageable get out of hand...
The President got bad info. And now he’s ticked and demanding action.
We’ve seen this before:
The intel was bad.
The information was slow.
His advisors recommended it.
The generals pushed for this.
He just read about it in the paper himself, people didn’t keep him informed.
RIght. Its not Obama’s fault, you see.
So he goes ahead and appoints a non-medical guy who was involved in Solyndra and other government scams.
This “leak” is all about “optics”: “Appear mad, demand people do something...and while the kittens lap that up like milk, go golfing.”
Exactly.
and fundraisers . . . The OBOLA crisis pretty much seals the fate of democrats in the election but then again I said OBOLA was going to lose to The Bishop in 12 - what do I know?
I won’t be a bit surprised if he goes golfing this weekend.
Precisely the manner in which the NYT reported about George Bush and Katrina. LOL
