Back in my naive days, I had a new boss. He was muslim. First day, he walked into my office to introduce himself and informed me he didn’t like me. I didn’t realize at that time muzzies don’t like women, especially left handed women. A short time later, a client gave me a couple of watermelons out of his garden so I decided to offer one to the boss as a peace offering. When I stretched out my arms to hand it to him, he jumped backwards as it if were a snake. He yelled no! and ran out the door. He made everyone’s life hell and we all quit. He would twist everything and lie. Then he’d claim projects were never turned in. The big mucky mucks always supported him despite proof. I tried to outlast him but just couldn’t but was the last to hang it up. HQ had the nerve to threaten holding my last paycheck because he accused me of emptying all my files. Evil monster.

A worker from another unit had invited some of us to her house once and her husband refused to be there because there would be a lot of women in the house. They were muslim. That was the only time she invited any of us over and she didn’t go out with us after that.

Can you explain why the outer garment isn't tucked into the pants with a belt as was common practice with the old uniforms? This is along the lines of what I remember from my youth



I know when I work outside, I generally find that leaving my shirt untucked leaves it subject to catching on things and also allows debris up under my clothes. It seems like the "work" uniform I remember from the 70s was a lot more practical in that respect that what is shown in the picture - or are there other, more practical uniforms for use in the field?

I was a correctional officer...one thing that I stressed to the prisoners was that is was VERY unwise to spit in the face of a person who brought every meal to you...(I sometimes worked the segregation unit!!)

you treat prisoners decently as long as they behave. There is, in the normal prison system something known as "good time" which meant that prisoners are rewarded for behaving themselves. The same applies to the captured terrorists, as long as they are compliant, they will be decently treated....it works both for staff and prisoner.

Yes! Unfortunately dealing with prisoners in the corrections system is much different than dealing with detainees at Gitmo. These are wretchedly evil mentally ill who are more like animals. They know they have more rights and will get better treatment than the servicemen guarding them, so they sling body fluids and say despicably evil things, which I’m certain they would carry out. That 0bama released the worse of these, and wants to release more, is mind-boggling.

That’s the Navy DCU (desert camouflage uniform). Its an old photo because the DCU was phased out in 2012. The Marine Corps has a different pattern, unique to them, as well.
