“The abandonment of the nuclear family concept and so-called family values is the single largest contributing factor to the growth of government over the last 50 years.”
And the concept of the nuclear family won’t be restored by increasing the power of the federal government to encourage or enforce nuclear families. Only decreasing the federal governments role in our lives will force us to live with the consequences of bad decisions.
Absolutely. And that's where the Sandra Fluke's of the world come from. They want that permissive society and they want government to pay for it.
But let’s say I want to cut all Federal Funding for abortion.
Is that an economic, or a social issue, or both?
Cuban is a fat, liberal punk. Let’s trade his Dallas Mavericks basketball team for a Girl Scout’s cookie table at Wal-Mart.
Did his boyfriend demand that he make these comments?
Clearly it’s both. One of those issues is a question for the government (should the government use its power to force individuals to pay for an individual’s poor choices) and one is question of individual integrity (would I murder my own unborn child). If a large number of individuals are willing to do the latter, your society is so depraved that its destruction will not be stopped by the correct answer to the former. Government can effectively refuse to pay for abortion. The government cannot effectively change an individual’s heart if that individual is willing to murder her own child.
Taxing is the role of the government. Spiritual renewal is the role of the churches, the faithful and the individual.
Excess cash is no longer an issue. They will add whatever national debt is neccessary to get what they want.
