Fear and panic spreads as Ebola doctor's 10-day itinerary reveals he rode three subway lines, ate out, went bowling and took an Uber taxi before testing positive for deadly virus

Doctors Without Borders physician Dr. Craig Spencer visited a busy Williamsburg bowling alley Wednesday night just hours before becoming ill The 33-year-old took an Uber car to Brooklyn from his home in Harlem He tested positive for the deadly virus, New York's first diagnosis

Ebola panic is swarming New York City tonight as it emerged infected doctor Craig Spencer rode the subway, visited a crowded bowling hot spot and took an Uber cab just one day before he was rushed to the hospital with a 103F fever.

Tonight, the Doctors Without Borders physician tested positive for the deadly virus 10 days after returning from Guinea where he was treating patients.

But it has emerged that instead of steering clear of crowds, the 33-year-old last night took the subway from Harlem to Williamsburg, where he visited The Gutter, before taking an Uber cab home.

Earlier that day, he went on a three-mile jog and took the 1 train to the High Line garden - a popular tourist destination - before eating out at a restaurant.

Meaning that residents in at least two dense New York City neighborhoods could have been exposed: Williamsburg and Harlem, where Spencer lives.

New Yorkers have flooded Twitter in panic revealing their fears after visiting the bowling alley and taking the subway at the same time.

One exclaimed: 'He took the subway from Harlem to Brooklyn?!?! YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE ENTIRE CITY SUBWAY SYSTEM TO DO THAT'

Another said: 'Now that Ebola is here, I aint takin the subway no more...'

And one wrote: 'Son Ebola found it's way to NY? I'm sick'

I heard taxis are on strike as well. Good, they should remain on strike, the city abuses the living freakin hell out of those guys. Good going Warren Wilhelm, you’ve managed to completely bring the city to it’s knees.

If I were to pick the worst potential for spread of this disease, it would be where an Ebola carrier was allowed to ride the subways and venture out into the public of New York City’s Manhattan. How would ANY agency go about quarantining portions of a city like that? I’ll tell you. Shut down the tunnels, close the bridges and blockade its entire coastline. Holy Shades of Snake Pliskin, Batman!

“YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE ENTIRE CITY SUBWAY SYSTEM TO DO THAT”

Queens and the Bronx are still safe!

I said earlier, he is an idiot, or he did it on purpose.

Hasidic Jews make up nearly 65 percent of the total population in Williamsburg. (This might fit your on-purpose theory.)

However, there is "gentrification" going on there now as well, which means liberal hipsters have moved in. (This would fit your he's-an-idiot theory.)

I'm going with the latter.

There’s a hold up in the Bronx,
Brooklyn’s broken out in fights.
There’s a traffic jam in Harlem
That’s backed up to Jackson Heights.
There’s a scout troup short a child,
Kruschev’s due at Idlewild
Car 54, Where Are You?

Why do we have to rely on a British tabloid to get this level of information?

Zero’s plan is finally starting to gel - I’m sure he was worried that we were done with Ebola and it would lose the potential for government malfeasance...

I’m trying to think of why anyone would go from Harlem to WILLIAMSBURG to bowl. Something really bad about this story.

"Hasidic Jews make up nearly 65 percent of the total population in Williamsburg."

I would think observant Jews would have some degree of behavioral insulation and protection. Since last spring/summer when this latest outbreak started to erupt and I was reading about its spread in Africa being largely attributed to their handling of the dead, I started thinking about Numbers 19:11-22.

For something written a few thousand years ago, it actually outlines a pretty sophisticated decon procedure and puts in place "protocols," at least as good as anything the CDC has come up with.

Not really. Williamsburg practically IS in Queens. Very close. The Bronx escaped this time.

“Still stunning that medical people, who are familiar with disease etc...are making such terrible decisions.”

Liberals believe that bad things only happen to others. I knew one who never locked his car or his house door. When I knew him he was right, nobody ever took the car or burgled his house.

To this doctor disease was for patients, not doctors.

So, question. What do you call a doctor that made D’s in medical school? A doctor!

Proof positive (pardon the pun), that a fella can attend higher education, study for years to become a well educated individual, gain his medical license, yet still be an incredibly stupid human being.

Doctors w/o borders. You go into an Ebola hot zone, come into direct contact with Ebola patients, then fly home within the incubation period and mingle amongst the crowds in NY city.

How damn dumb can you be?
