Nurse describes Ebola quarantine ordeal: 'I was in shock. Now I'm angry'
CNN ^ | October 26, 2014 | Elizabeth Cohen, Leslie Holland

In a separate interview with CNN Senior Medical Correspondent Elizabeth Cohen, Hickox elaborated on what she thought of Christie's assessment of her medical condition.

"I'm sorry, but that's just a completely unacceptable statement in my opinion. For (Christie) -- a politician who's trusted and respected -- to make a statement that's categorically not true is just unacceptable and appalling."

"She's fine. She's not sick."

Hickox told Crowley that mandatory quarantine is "not a sound public health decision" and that public health officials -- not politicians -- should be making the policies related to Ebola and public safety.

"For the first 12 hours, I was in shock. Now I'm angry," she added.

On Sunday, Hickox's lawyers met with Hickox at the hospital, saying they had a 75-minute conversation through a piece of clear plastic while she sat inside the tent.

"She's fine. She's not sick," lawyer Steven Hyman said in a sidewalk news conference aired on CNN affiliate WABC. "She went and did a magnanimous thing and deserves to be treated with respect and dignity, not put in isolation because some political leaders decided it looks good to do

Kaci Hickox, a nurse placed under mandatory quarantine in New Jersey, went on CNN on Sunday and criticized the "knee-jerk reaction by politicians" to Ebola, saying "to quarantine someone without a better plan in place, without more forethought, is just preposterous."

Hickox, an epidemiologist who was working to help treat Ebola patients in Sierra Leone, has tested negative twice for Ebola and does not have symptoms, she said. She is quarantined for 21 days at University Hospital in Newark.

"This is an extreme that is really unacceptable, and I feel like my basic human rights have been violated," Hickox told CNN's Candy Crowley on "State of the Union."

Typical liberal “rules for thee but not for me” attitude. Seriously, she acts as if the Constitution/Bill of rights is supposed to mean something with that “my human rights have been violated” crap. After she and her liberal sychophants have busted their collective asses trying to gut it.

Bet she would be the first to defend murder in the womb or subscribe to the world’s need for population control to save the polar bear. Human rights my butt. Selfish hussy wouldn’t know a human right if it bit her in the butt.

Deal with it, witch. Have a spoonful of your own medicine.

I have an idea.

Due to Ebola’s high mortality rate (up to 70%) I can see the reason for extraordinary precautions.

If the nurse, or future nurses/doctors, have an issue with a 21-day quarantine due to their potential exposure to Ebola then I suggest that they post a personal guarantee bond for $ 1,000,000. The bond would be used to pay for medical treatment of anyone who came into contact with them and later developed a confirmed case of Ebola.

Why $ 1,000,000?

According to posting on FR it takes about $ 1,000 an hour to treat an Ebola patient. Michael Dugan’s hospital bill ran nearly $ 500,000.

This personal bond could cover the treatment costs of two confirmed Ebola patients of multiple people being tested for possible Ebola exposure.

My question is why not?

If this self-centered LIB nurse has a license to practice nursing, it should be yanked. What a putz! Because she wants to go bowling, go to a deli or something, she is willing to put innocent others at risk of dieing. What a putz!

I personally wasn’t at my computer or watching much TV or movies for some time because I had to suddenly drive my wife to the hospital for an emergency appendix removal last week. I had limited activities to do, but I was willing to do it to make sure that she was okay. I was also willing to have my kids get babysat by their grandparents while I was at the hospital. This woman needs to seriously start reconsidering her attitude at things going a little inconvenient. It could be bad for a marriage, and bad for her children if she carries such an attitude into it.

How nice. Kaci with an “I” is annoyed.

Her attitude toward protecting public health makes me “appalled” with two “p”s and two “l”s.
