The nurse forcibly quarantined in New Jersey after she came home from treating Ebola patients in West Africa will be released Monday, state officials said. Kaci Hickox has been held against her will in a tent outside a New Jersey medical center since she was taken off a flight, flushed and distraught, Friday. Hickox has hired a lawyer and spoken out publicly against her quarantine.
“Since testing negative for Ebola on early Saturday morning, the patient being monitored in isolation at University Hospital in Newark has thankfully been symptom free for the last 24 hours,” New Jersey health department officials said in a statement. “As a result, and after being evaluated in coordination with the CDC and the treating clinicians at University Hospital, the patient is being discharged.”
The case quickly escalated over the weekend, with Hickox protesting from her confinement and scientists including Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, saying there was no medical basis to hold her. The White House even weighed in, pressing New York and New Jersey to reverse their decisions to quarantine all returning medical workers who have treated Ebola patients.
Hickox will be allowed to take private transport home to Maine. “Since the patient had direct exposure to individuals suffering from the Ebola Virus in one of the three West African nations, she is subject to a mandatory New Jersey quarantine order," the statement read.
“Health officials in Maine have been notified of her arrangements and will make a determination under their own laws on her treatment when she arrives.”

This “nurse” should have her license removed. She obviously doesn’t know jack about medicine, nor does she care about anyone but herself. Sorry, whatever goodwill she might have gained by treating Ebola patients in Africa was pissed away when she put herself above the health and safety of the public.
After pressure from the CDC, NIH and the White House they’re letting her out of NJ quarantine.
Her affiliation with the CDC has been scrubbed from the internet. She had a temperature of over 100F that mysteriously disappeared. It was a set-up to break quarantines in this country. And it worked.

That was a bad mistake. Politicians have to be firm about quarantines or else they get Typhoid Mary situations, where those who are infectious *insist* on infecting others, and loudly complain about being prevented from infecting others.
As long as people get shelter, food, water and some amenities during quarantine, they absolutely must be denied habeus corpus, or any contact which could spread infection.
It is not a danged joke. Such people are extremely dangerous. Some refuse to accept the idea that they are either sick or infectious, and even reject personal hygiene.
Typhoid Mary infected 53 and killed three before she was stopped.
Some major league doctors need to sit down with this nurse and tell her to shut up, or she will never work in medicine again. The amount of potential harm she could cause could rival that of Jenny McCarthy and her anti-vaccination campaign.
I have no use for the kind of bogus, politically correct, selective "compassion" for Ebola victims that excludes one's own fellow Americans who might potentially be exposed.
Of course the thinking of the moonbats is that an Ebola outbreak here in the United States would incentivize us to jump through our butts to come up with a cure.....as with the AIDS plague.
