Nurse Kaci Hickox 'Will Go to Court' Over Maine Ebola Quarantine Rule

Kaci Hickox, a nurse who treated Ebola patients and threatened to sue New Jersey over being quarantined before she was discharged, today threatened to sue Maine if officials there do not lift a 21-day quarantine restriction.

“I will go to court to attain my freedom,” Hickox told “Good Morning America" today via Skype from her hometown of Fort Kent, Maine. “I have been completely asymptomatic since I’ve been here. I feel absolutely great.”

Maine's health commissioner said Tuesday night the state will "pursue legal authority if necessary" to keep her quarantined.

Hickox, 29, arrived at Fort Kent Monday, but is not staying at her home. She was discharged from a New Jersey hospital after spending the weekend quarantined in an outdoor isolation tent at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.

The Doctors Without Borders nurse was checked by officials at Newark Liberty International Airport Friday after arriving from treating Ebola patients in Sierra Leone. Hickox says she believes the temperature that officials said prompted her detainment in the hospital isolation tent was incorrect.

I don’t click on ABC News links. Does the article point out that Hickox is a left-wing political activist?

Glad to hear she has no symptoms now. And if she should become symptomatic then might I suggest we leave her at home to die from that malady?

Quarantine her in the white house. She’ll be happy and Obie gets a photo op.

...and during discovery when physicians other than Obie’s paid hacks have to testify about all that is not known about this particular strain of Ebola, the lawsuit will be dropped.

This is a Sociopath Test:

The Sociopath will understand that the purpose of going to Africa to treat Ebola is the Victory Lap. In order to get the most out of the Victory Lap, it must happen during the incubation stage, so the Heroic Hero does not even know whether he will live or die. It is a narcissist’s dream. It is almost as good as contracting Ebola. Better even, because it does not involve that messy bleeding-from-the-eyeballs business.

The Normal Person will understand that the purpose of going to Africa to treat Ebola is to alleviate suffering and prevent the spread of disease. The Normal Person will accept quarantine, and would be embarrassed to be caught out in public during the incubation period, because protecting the public health is paramount.

So the Sociopath sees mandatory quarantine and an inhumane injustice that will prevent anybody from volunteering to treat the disease, while the Normal Person sees quarantine as a perfectly sensible policy that any reasonable volunteer would not only accept, but insist upon.

Which brings us to the President of the United States...

The Court should find that 21 days are not sufficient
to protect the People of Maine, and that 2 months
are required pursuant to findings in West Africa.

Is her problem basically that she was asked to stay in a "tent" for a few days? Would she not be so morally offended and indignantly outraged if it had been a nicely-appointed room in a temporary building or trailer? Or would she have required some kind of 5-star hotel suite with free room service and all the HBO she could watch?

It’s all about her. I hope her neighbors in Maine get in her Wasserman-Schultz face.

Quintessentially liberal -

we’re supposed to judge her by her intentions and her good works,

and since she’s such a good person, we’re not to judge anything else about her or make her comply with rules that lesser people have to.

Let her go to court. Meanwhile quarantine her for 21 days.
