Nurse Kaci Hickox who remains symptom-free after spending three days in a New Jersey isolation tent after flying home from Ebola-stricken West Africa remains under quarantine at home in Maine, but for only another day, she tells TODAY's Matt Lauer.
I dont plan on sticking to the guidelines. I remain appalled by these home quarantine policies that have been forced upon me, even though I am in perfectly good health and feeling strong and have been this entire time completely symptom free, said Hickox, who wouldnt emerge from Maines 21-day voluntary quarantine until Nov. 10.
I truly believe this policy is not scientifically nor constitutionally just, and so Im not going to sit around and be bullied around by politicians and be forced to stay in my home when I am not a risk to the American public.
Hickox, who pointed out that top health officials believe a quarantine is unnecessary unless someone develops symptoms, also said:
- She will pursue legal action if Maine forces her into continued isolation: If the restrictions placed on me by the state of Maine are not lifted by Thursday morning, I will go to court to fight for my freedom.
- She plans to return to Africa to help Ebola patients: "My work in Sierra Leone for four weeks was amazing and I feel privileged to have been able to fight this battle and I do plan on going back. Its not just will I, its more of a when.
- State officials should maintain health guidelines but New Jersey officials demonstrated a lack of scientific rationale: Hickox said policies need to be based on evidence, but what she saw at Newark airport showed no such basis. "I saw complete disorganization. I saw no leadership, and if youre going to put a policy like that in place, that impedes on my civil rights, then you need to have the administrative details worked out before you start detaining me in an airport for no reason."

Guilermo Del Toro has a hit show entitled The Strain. It is on FX network
http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/the-strain/episodes
First season is over.
Good guy is from the CDC and is trying to install a public quarantine for anyone exposed to the contagion (worms that make you a walking dead vampire)
The bad guys all have hidden agendas for pormoting the destruciton of mankind.
THis is so life imitating art that it is unbelievable.

It sounds like she is a government bureaucrat, so I'd be surprised if she actually is working with patients. Frankly, I think she should be told that she can't go back if she can't abide by quarantine rules.

Okay, I realize that this will make several of you angry. However, Her Constitutional rights must be protected. Simply put, give her what she demands. Due Process. If the state is going to demand her confinement, it shouldn’t be on the whims of one politician. Oversight will insure that confinement orders aren’t abused.

If she is successful in getting released and develops Ebola and gives it to another person she should be charged with attempt murder. If the person dies, the charge should be manslaughter.

Wouldn't it be funny if the good little Democrat died of Ebola next week? No. No, it wouldn't.

I would agree that she should remain in home quarantine until the 21 days expires. However, forcing her into that tent in Newark when she had no symptoms was a huge government overreach.By the time a person gets symptoms it's too late. They are(because they have symptoms) infecting people.
To: IMR 4350
Damn shame if, during hunting season, she is found dead on her property tragically wearing costume horns.

A “2 caser”.
One case before, one case when you wake up in the morning, and the 2 bags they came in to put over her head.

“She does not have Ebola or even Typhoid.”
***********
Not true. She tested negative for ebola but, ding, ding, ding, the test has a high false negative rate.
So it just means she *probably* doesn’t have ebola. So she can keep her narcissistic ass isolated. And since some people present after 21 days - it should be for 40 to be safe.

Also it’s fine to let diseased foreigners into the US to run around as they wish, but US citizens must be quarantined.
(Yes, I think she ought to be quarantined, too, but I find the double standard particularly odious.)

I don’t watch a whole lot of TV and if I did, the Today Show would be on my watch list somewhere below reruns of Gilligan’s Island and test patterns.
I don’t care if they use a tent, a hospital, a cave or an island, I’m opposed to quarantining people that do not have Ebola.
