OTTAWA — Prince Charles has made what is being described as a substantial donation to the families of the two Canadian soldiers killed recently in separate attacks.
Clarence House confirmed a donation was made to the True Patriot Love Foundation, which is managing the flood of money coming in for the soldiers through the Stand on Guard Fund.
The Prince of Wales’ Charitable Foundation isn’t revealing the amount of the donation made specifically for the soldiers, but a source close to the matter called it substantial.
The Stand on Guard Fund was created by a group of Conservative friends in the wake of last Wednesday’s fatal shooting of reservist Cpl. Nathan Cirillo in front of the National War Memorial in Ottawa.
All the donations will be divided equally between Cirillo’s family and that of Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, who was struck by an assailant’s car two weeks ago.
Donations can be made through www.standonguardfund.com.

An online campaign to raise money for the families of Corporal Nathan Cirillo and Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent has quickly surpassed several goals, reaching $550,000 as of Tuesday.
The Stand On Guard Fund was created by a group of federal lobbyists and political staffers on Oct. 22, hours after Cirillo was shot and killed at the Canadian War Memorial.
“We were well past our goal of $10,000 by noon (the next day), and then we got a call from Canada’s banks saying they wanted to give us $80,000. And then the snowball really started rolling,” said Chad Rogers, one of the organizers.
The founders wanted to express their sympathy for the deaths of the two soldiers in more than just words, Rogers said.
I generally think of Charles as a dolt; the product of generations of selective inbreeding.
Having said that I will give him kudos for this.

Really nice of Charles. But where did he get the money? The guy doesn’t work.
P Charles is basically a muzzi convert so it’s interesting he’s giving money to someone murdered by a jihadi.
And of course Obama is donating substantial amounts to victims of his sons’ murders.

Princes Di was a very needed jolt of new DNA into Queen Victoria’s lineage. And yes, I think his sons are OK.
Happened to catch the funeral of Corporal Cirillo in Hamilton on You Tube.
With all the resources at hand, the Royal family should have had a royal there at the funeral.
I suggest anyone interested to watch...stunningly moving!

Good man... good of Prince Charles to do this... and the banks too.
I agree. Charles is a political disaster, but he got some good advice on this matter, and I genuinely thank him for it.
