Happy Election Day everyone! I figured I'd go ahead and get the election day thread started. Polls open on the east coast in a little less than an hour.

Please be sure to post observations of interest if you went to the polls today.

” Polls open on the east coast in a little less than an hour.”

An hour? I though polls didn’t open until 7am? Did you forget to turn your clocks back?

There will be some light rain in some states today. Here is the national doppler radar for 5 AM EST.

I will vote today knowing full well that freedom will continue to slip away. I know that if the illegal powers exercised by Obama are stymied for a couple years, some president in the near future will pick them up, dust them off and proceed to further enslave our once great republic.

If we win big today, I’ll cheer for a senate that allows its few patriots to speak and perhaps shame a decrepit institution to think of the nation they are supposed to serve.

Yet in the end, men are but men. They like power and inevitably seek more of it. A plurality of American voters would slap themselves in chains if it relieved them of life’s tough decisions.

Today’s midterms will not change our national course. Enjoy the party tonight. The hangover begins tomorrow.

Thoughtful post. I’ll be one of those who watch from the sidelines this time. Voting for mediocre at best candidates begets mediocre at best results. And here in VA we have mediocrity in abundance on the ballot. (In VA state elections are held in odd numbered years, this is a Federal election only)

At least the folks in Wisconsin will have a good reason to show up and I wish them the best.

Thanks for getting us started. Still got 4 1/2 hours to go here on the left coast. Will be doing my duty for what it is worth out here.

We could use some good news for a change.

I realize even if the senate is won, there will be no magical turn around. But there will be at least a glimmer of hope where there has been little.

Republicans better lead. They better produce and pass a federal budget that hasn’t been done since Obama took office.

They better be serious about finding out what happened at the IRS and Benghazi. They are far more serious than anything Nixon did.

They better threaten the President with removal from office if it can be proven that the White House was heading either of these things.

And finally, they better damn well not push/pass amnesty for illegals and they must block Obama from doing it via executive order.

Otherwise the Republican party is over. They will never be trusted again to do the peoples will.

So what will they do?

OK, it’s 7 here in MI.

I noticed yesterday at 7 pm none of the liberal news channels were talking about the election, how wild is that?

CNN had a breaking news banner and was covering the months old riot in Ferguson! They had old video running as if it was happening now.

I guess they were covering the story about the ‘no-fly’ order for news copters back when it started, but they were running the footage like it was going on right now.

My guess is if they covered the upcoming election they would have had to admit the horrible RAT poll numbers, and they just couldn’t handle that much pain!

We will need all the help we can get in Wisconsin getting Scott Walker re-elected (for the third time in four years)

If the GOP takes the Senate, but we lose Scott Walker, you know the headline tomorrow in the NYT.

Walker right now has a slim lead, but everyone who voted from him in the 2012 recall has to show up at the polls today and vote.
