The Navy SEAL who shot Osama bin Laden dead in the special force’s most famous operation can be named today.
The Navy hero is set to give a full interview to Fox News later this month and waive his anonymity but MailOnline has established that he is Rob O’Neill, a highly-decorated veteran who quit after 16 years service.
In an exclusive interview Rob’s father, Tom O’Neill, tells MailOnline, ‘People are asking if we are worried that ISIS will come and get us because Rob is going public. I say I’ll paint a big target on my front door and say come and get us.’
Rob O’Neill, 38, is a former member of SEAL Team Six who has been portrayed on screen in Zero Dark Thirty, Captain Phillips and Lone Survivor.
He is one of the most distinguished members ever of the elite force – but now faces being frozen out of its circles for revealing its most closely-held secrets.
O’Neill was personally congratulated for killing bin Laden – in his account at close range with three shots to his forehead – during the SEAL raid on Abbottobad, in Pakistan, on 2 May 2011.
Questions have previously been raised over the exact narrative of how bin laden came to die, although the dispute centers on an alternative account which claims O’Neill shot him once, leaving him mortally-wounded and the terrorist was killed by two other SEALs with further shots to the chest rather than forehead.
O’Neill’s decision to speak out was prompted by losing some of his military benefits by quitting the SEALs after 16 years rather than staying for a full 20 years of service.

A hat tip should also go to the hagfish, aka “slimefish”, aka “the most disgusting form of sea life”, that likely consumed OBL’s earthly remains. Your life would not be improved by knowing how the hagfish would do this. Suffice it to say that copious amounts of disgusting slime would be involved.

Probably a life-saving maneuver; he would get the next couple of certain death missions in retribution for killing Obama's hero.
If they medically discharge you...even at 19 years...you only get the disability pay. If you push yourself across the line, with various ailments and severe pains, to twenty...you collect the pension, then collect the disability once you apply at the VA and get approved.
I knew lots of guys who got 20-to-24 years, and a year later were approved for 10-percent to 50-percent disability. Figure fifty percent of 3,100...on top of your pension of 2,000....not a bad deal. But if you collect ONLY disability, well, you missed the real pay-off.
Not that I’m against this guy getting it....if you got into a fairly physical job and wrecked your body by age 32...they owe you something. It’s just like the NBA or NFL.
A part of me wants to believe that after Bin Laden was killed some SEAL made a special, personal, delivery of a small cooler of dry ice to a certain ranch in Texas. It’s the romantic in me.

According to _No_Easy_Day_, written by the guy who was standing behind Rob O’Neill when bin Laden was shot: after clearing lower floors of all combatants, the team was going up a staircase to the third floor hallway, where O’Neill saw a man peeking around a door and O’Neill fired at him as the then-unidentified man withdrew into the room. Upon entering the room, the team found a man on the floor, dead of being shot in the head; the first two SEALs proceeded to make sure he was dead. Further examination showed the man was unarmed (odd, there being an AK above the aforementioned door, and plenty of warning that using it would be smart), dark haired (later found a recently-used black hair-coloring product), and with a little examination past the dyed hair and partially missing face/head realized it was, in fact, bin Laden.
So yeah: for a presumed hostile combatant (with plenty of warning of what’s coming) peeking around a door & withdrawing, a full-auto “triple tap” makes sense.
Oh, they gave him more after the first 3.
After whats been happening to SEAL’s lately who can blame him. Why can’t the nation know who killed Bin Laden or at least who thought they killed Bin laden? I’m still not convinced it was Binny.

Who will be the first notable personality to break the PC silence on Islam publicly? To name the enemy?
Who will be the first to break the media taqiyya of ‘moderate’ and Jihadi. To expose Islam’s 1500 year old war on everyone not them?
