This evening’s radio offering is a 55:52 program paid for by a Roosevelt PAC (or the 1944 equivalent) that features an impressive array of Hollywood and New York celebrities, as well as veterans and disaffected Republicans, making a last minute appeal to vote for FDR or risk all kinds of terrible consequences. It begins with a song by Judy Garland and ends with a prayer by the President himself. Humphrey Bogart is MC. If you have never heard the singing trio of Groucho Marx, Jimmy Cagney and Keenan Wynn in action you should give it a listen. Everyone is invited to check back to tell us of your favorite song lyrics or other bits. Today’s Democrats may be good at hardball politicking, but they didn’t invent it. This broadcast is an iron fist in a velvet glove. Click on the link below to listen.

FDR Infomercial

Well I guess we couldn’t get EVERYTHING we wanted out of World War II.

At least he replaced Henry Wallace with Harry Truman.

It's possible that the United States would today be a Soviet puppet if Wallace had been VP when FDR died.

I’ll give this a look later. I wonder if he had any Roman columns on the stage?

And the Brits dumped Churchill soon after as well.

Uncle Joe could hardly believe his luck. A guy that would be dead in 5 months and some nobody from the UK that was more interested in Socialism.

disaffected Republicans on November 6, 1944

Be interesting to see what exactly disaffected these Republicans other than a misunderstanding of the reason (total policy failure of the FED) for the Great Depression and believing, like so many do today, that government is the only solution to government-caused problems and crises.

At 62 years old, he’s not looking too good. Will be dead in about six months.

Probably lots of God-Like Reverb. Hard to see the columns through the radio.

Didn’t realize how bad Garland was as a singer. That was pretty bad.
