Arkansas governor to pardon son on drug charges (Party affiliation censored by CNN)

Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe plans to pardon his son for a felony drug charge from more than a decade ago. "It will probably be in the next few weeks," said Matt DeCample, a spokesman for the governor.

"For any pardons the governor does the person has to have finished all terms of their sentence ... and then had a period of time where they've shown they have straightened their lives out."

Kyle Beebe, who is now 34, was charged in 2003 with possession of a controlled substance -- marijuana -- with intent to deliver. He was fined and sentenced to three years supervised probation, according to CNN affiliate KATV.

What is it with Arkansas governors and wildly corrupt and inappropriate pardons? First we had Clinton (though that was as POTUS).

Then Huckabee pardoned over 1,000, including violent thugs like Maurice Clemmons, who went on to murder 4 police officers in cold blood.

Now Beebe pardons his OWN low life, drug dealing SON?

If you’ve got enough juice, then you can get away with anything while the press ignores.

But only if you’re a democrat.

Others must be on the straight and narrow. Always.

When you speak of an Arkansas governor and his family and drugs in the same sentence, it recalls the old stories of one William Jefferson Clinton and his half-brother Roger doing cocaine together in Little Rock in the 1980s. Roger was busted on federal charges, IIRC.

IIRC youre absolutely right

“Roger Clinton, Jr.: If the name Roger Clinton sounds familiar that’s because he is the half-brother of former President Bill Clinton.

In 1985, Roger Clinton was arrested and pleaded guilty for cocaine-related charges. He served more than a year in prison and was controversially pardoned more than a decade later by his brother, Bill Clinton.

After his criminal record was erased, he was charged with drunk driving and disorderly conduct in two unrelated incidents.”

what kept Billy from being treated similarly remains a dark secret...

I just clicked on the article, and it looks like CNN got enough flak that it changed the second paragraph so that it now says “the Democratic governor.”

Bill and Roger Clinton doing cocaine together?

I thought Bill didn’t inhale? :)

I thought Bill didn’t inhale?

That was with regard to marijuana. I have read about Governor Bill and brother Roger smoking cocaine together in Little Rock.
