If You Can't Beat Them, Indict Them
American Thinker ^ | Nov. 6 | Dennis Lund

The character of Frank Underwood, played magnificently by Kevin Spacey in ‘House of Cards’, represents the kind of politician you love to hate. He is a strange combination of ruthlessness and charm; amorality mixed with a façade of likability.

Winston Churchill is credited with the line: “Tact is the ability to tell someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.”

Frank Underwood has that political savvy. He is also the kind of person that, given a choice, you want fighting for you rather than against you.

In recent years we have seen a new development within the political realm: using Grand Jury indictments (or similar procedures) to taint an opponent. Guilt or innocence does not matter, as low-information voters will see the headline and ignore the facts. The real purpose is not to punish the guilty; it is to end the careers of opponents by any means necessary. This is exactly why the tactic is both effective and reprehensible.

Put this in the endless ‘FR wishful thinking’ file.

Which part do you find to be 'wishful thinking'?

I can think of other examples, such as Scott Walker in Wisconsin where the left has gone after opponents on specious grounds.

It doesn't have ANYTHING do to with a Democrat president and Congress, does it?

I will probably go back to it, but stopped watching when he pushed his lover in front of train. He became a villain at that point for me and I could no longer root for him. The same thing happened with breaking bad, when they murdered the 10 year old under the train overpass that was it for me! Killing innocents is a bridge to far and It just became a down hill roller coaster to the inevitable death of everyone!
Continuing to watch would be like gawking at a traffic accident, I have never done that and never will, and don’t associate with people who do!

Anomalous? No, rather normal.

BUT is the earring on the correct ear? ONE of the ears indicates homosexuality, according to an Internet site.

I had a great, grandfather who sailed the seas as a merchant marine type and wore a gold earring in one ear, like a pirate.
I wear TWO earrings...and they are also gold, "merely" 22K, which tells you where I bought them.

You were rooting for him even before that? He was a nasty son of a bitch from the beginning. And his wife was just as bad. Anyway, you should return to it. It had such a perfect ending.

I NEVER gawk at accidents and BLAST my horn at the STUPID lookie-loos who do. I get some joy from that. Is there something wrong with me? :o)

I didn't even get that far. When he basically raped his lover, and somewhat violently at that, I turned it off and never went back.

All it is is normalizing evil.

Which parts aren't the Hillary parts?
