And feds waive federal tax, not the states. Your point? Mine was that in GB, and indeed in most of the world, lottery winnings are tax-free.

I need to make it clear that I’m not recommending annuities. I was referring to the mathematics behind annuities. The problem with annuities, in my opinion, is the high commissions up front before you own them. I’ve stayed with mutual funds, and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve moved some of the money into bond funds.
