The Islamic State terror group has claimed to have beheaded American hostage Peter Kassig, an aid worker and former Army Ranger, in a graphic new video.

In the nearly 16-minute video uploaded to social networks on Sunday, a black-clad militant with his face concealed stands before a severed head that he claims is that of the U.S. aid worker.

My radar is up because something in this story is fishy - and I know others here feel the same.

Trying to ignore or downplay the fact that the guy is in the wrong place under questionable circumstances shortly before converting, and his mother is wearing muzzie coverings...wtf?

I don’t want to be insensitive, or say the wrong thing, or be downright skeptical. But by the end of this post I’m pretty sure I will offend someone.

When we injured that bastard with the airstrike, I’m SURE we knew who it was we were hitting. I’m sure it would have been a trivial matter to listen to their communications to find where they were taking him. We could have EASILY killed him at that hospital.

We could have waited on him to leave, sent operators in there to kill him, or even bombed the place. In my mind, him going to a hospital effectively turns it into a military target. A PR nightmare, and “bad optics” I know, but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do....
