Frankly, I think if Al Gore’s name is mentioned, his picture (with his pork jowls aglow) should be accompanied by a triple cheeseburger with bacon should be a mandatory inclusion. [If I were king :0)]

The Dakotas can have 20” of snow and -30 degrees, but it’s not news until the East Coast has 5” of snow.

All weather bad or good, is the result of man made global warming says Gore, whether you like it or not.

He knows all these things because he invented the internet.

I have a bet with someone I know who is a global cooling denier...(He really hates it when I call him that)

Before 2030, it will snow in Tampa Florida with enough to accumulate ground cover...

I live In Tampa...

If I owned that phase I would be quite wealthy...it's been around for awhile...I have no claim on it...

Go for it...

Al Gore did warn us that Global Warming could cause Planetary Cooling, but you have to be a Democrat to understand the concept.

Being an urban jungle (Harold Knight was correct), Des Moines tends to amplify its weather woes. Heck, it was down to 1 degree F in Estherville on Friday and nobody south of US 175 cared. Having said that…

Maybe it's just me, but after the Spring that took forever to arrive and the Summer that never did fire on all eight, Iowa's having measurable snowfall over a week before Thanksgiving does seem a bit thick.

I well remember the Halloween snowstorm of ‘91.
31 inches of wet, heavy snow.

I fired up the big 8 horse snow blower and cleared our driveway but there was no point in doing it since there was 30 inches of snow in the street out front.

You have to remember that the news media is centered in the New York/Washington axis. A big storm in New York is considered big news. A big storm in the Dakotas is just a day in flyover country.

Actually, the Global Warming thing (now referred to Climate Change) is way too complicated for stupid people like you and me to understand. You'll just have to trust the scientists because they are really smart with PhDs and government grants. So shut up and be quiet and be happy to pay higher energy prices and lots of new taxes.

I'd add the sarc tag but this is exactly what the proponents of global warming are saying.

It is all about control and nothing more:

“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.”

Ronald Reagan

But you will still lose. Because any deviation from temperature norms (whatever heck that is), warmer or colder, will be due to global warming aka climate change.
