Maybe next time he should skip out on that whole ‘arranged marriage’ thing.
A Saudi groom has divorced his bride on their wedding night after seeing her face for the first time when the photographer asked them to pose for pictures. The couple, from the Western Saudi town of Medinah, had agreed to marry each other despite having not met face to face – a popular custom in certain Middle Eastern countries. But when the bride removed her veil and smiled for the camera, her new husband leapt to his feet in disgust. ‘You are not the girl I want to marry,’ he declared. ‘You are not the one I had imagined. I am sorry, but I divorce you.’ According to local daily Okaz, the bride immediately collapsed in a fit of tears as panicked wedding guests stepped in to try to resolve the dispute. But their efforts were to no avail. ‘The groom said he had not been able to see his bride’s face before marriage,’ Okaz reported. ‘When he divorced her, the bride collapsed and the wedding turned into a night of tears.’ News of the jilting was met with anger on social media.
In some marriages, the husband wants the wife to wear a veil after being married. Saudis are so backwards, having them wear a veil before getting married. Total package thing, you can’t have it all and if the rack is nice a veil will suffice.
Idiotic customs result in idiotic behavior. DOH!
Most of the Mom & Pop groceries around here are owned by Yemanis, so I’ve gotten to know a few of them. A couple of years ago one of the families was arranging a marriage for their youngest son.
I asked him if he was worried about never having seen the girl. He said the the grooms mother and sisters are supposed to check her out. He seemed pretty confident.
His marriage lasted about a year. But it didn’t end over her looks....just personalities.
Who cares about this BS? We will never understood them, they will never understand us = incompatible. Always.
The only thing you need to know is that if given the chance muslims would not hesitate to wipe the world of every American, Christian, and Jew. Right or left, doesn’t matter. We wouldn’t do that to them. Not in a thousand years.

He has insulted his Uncle and Aunt (aka his in-laws). I am sure there will be some bitter recriminations between the groom's mother (his Aunt's sister) and his father, a first cousin of the bride's father.
OTOH, I am sure cooler heads will prevail when the groom comes to his senses and also takes the bride's sister(s) in Islamic matrimony. As long as none of the women involved tries to drive a car, everything should be all right.
I know all about this stuff because some of the splendid Saudi chaps with whom I labored in the KSA had upwards of 40 children. They might be married to four women at once, divorcing them as quickly as the Tampa Bay Rays trade pitchers, but leaving a goodly number of them with child, and also with children. According to Sharia Law, all exes must be treated well and all children supported.
E.G., the popular leader, Osama bin Ladn was one of 75 children, as was his dad, the famous contractor. Of course, the late Obie was no slouch, having fathered upwards of 60 junior bin Ladn's himself. Rumor has it that several of the blushing brides with whom he contracted marriage were NOT cousins. His rather unattractive demise should be a lesson to all those young Saudis who contemplate breaking with tradition and marrying outside the family.
