The vote was also a reflection of how a once-obscure pipeline blew up into an expensive national political battle between environmentalists and the oil industry.
More Gruberisms, this is a battle between Marxists and the oil industry.
Pray America is waking
The senate Obamabots give Mary Landrieu a good rogering to save Obama the embarrassment of vetoing the Keystone bill.
This isn’t horseshoes. Only tells us that after the new Senate is in...chances are much better.
walsh is a lameduck
I wonder if the outcome of Senate votes like this one would have been different if state lawmakers hadnt given up their voices in Congress by foolishly ratifying the ill-conceived 17th Amendment.
RE: This isnt horseshoes. Only tells us that after the new Senate is in...chances are much better.
It will pass the Senate, but when Obama vetoes it, they don’t have the votes to override, which in effect means no Keystone Pipeline.
Arkansas: Pryor (D) to Cotton (R); no vote change North Carolina: Hagan (D) to Tillis (R); no vote change Alaska: Begich (D) to Sullivan (R); no vote change Montana: Retiring D (Walsh) to Daines (R); no vote change Louisiana: Landrieu (D) or Cassidy (R); no vote change
Colorado: Udall (D) to Gardner (r); +1 vote change Iowa: Retiring D (Harkin) to Ernst (R); +1 vote change South Dakota: Retiring D (Johnson) to Rounds (R); +1 vote change West Virginia: Retiring D (Rockefeller) to Capito (R); +1 vote change
60 is still 7 short of a veto override. I have four extra votes, assuming everyone else votes as they did today, leaving them at 63. Need four more to override.
I believe Walsh (D-MT) is retiring and has been replaced with Daines (R-MT).
Bring it BACK AGAIN!
It will pass

The Gruber Backlash is going to have a ripple effect that will change this dynamic.

It’s not the passing that concerns me, it’s what happens after it passes. Obama will veto it.
I don’t think we have the votes to override his veto.
This was all about protecting Obama from having to make a veto.
RE: This was all about protecting Obama from having to make a veto.
He will have to make that veto next year. And I am afraid his veto will succeed. There’s not enough votes to override it.
sick obstructionists
Over the next year, stock up on popcorn because watching Hillary take her to the woodshed and split the left is gonna be spectacular.
Change a comma and send it again. Keep changing commas and keep sending it every time it’s voted down and vetoed for 2 years.
Do not consider a single piece of business until Obama signs the bill. Not one. Shut the govt down, defund govt entirely, do whatever. But nothing moves until it passes. THAT is how you deal with this.
That got me thinking. Maybe we could come up with a catchy spoof of the the nursery rhyme “Lizzie Borden” for “Lizzie Warren.”
anyone of them, or all of them, will say “I voted for it before I voted against it” there where more no votes on the rat side, but they only needed 1 to kill it allowing the rest of the rats to look like they supported the pipeline.
Trust me, when the rubber hits the road, the rats vote the way they are needed.
toss in a full repeal of Zerocare and keep sending them back.. THAT is how you do it.
Might as well toss in a budget while you are at it ;)
