Could Obama cut deal on Keystone pipeline? Don't rule it out

President Barack Obama might be open to using the Keystone pipeline as leverage with Republicans if they cooperate on other aspects of his long-stalled domestic agenda, such as investing in infrastructure, closing tax loopholes or reducing carbon emissions.

After years of fighting over TransCanada's crude oil pipeline from Canada, a Keystone deal is not entirely out of the question, sources inside the administration and others close to the White House told Reuters on Tuesday.

With the Senate's narrow defeat of a Keystone bill on Tuesday, Obama avoided the awkward position of possibly vetoing a bill supported by members of his own Democratic party. But the issue will come up again soon after the new year when Republicans, who already control the House of Representatives, take charge of the Senate as well.

Any deal would have to yield concrete gains for Obama on his agenda. Obama also likely would insist on making an executive decision on the $8 billion pipeline from Canada, rather than letting Congress approve the permit, sources said.

I could see him doing it if Congress would:

A) triple the gas tax or implement per mile charges
B) close all coal and nuclear power plants. Perhaps oil as well
C) implemented a full amnesty
and
D) provided more travel opportunities for he and his family so he could golf some different courses.

Obama doesn’t want to make deals.

For him its my way or the highway.

In any case, Republicans were elected to stop his policies, not to help him destroy what’s left of the country.

No deal from Obama as long as Buffett funds Herr Obama and the other Rats in the $inate to block the Keystone pipeline.

This is just another example of the two critical ways we need to look at anything liberals are involved in:

1. Cui Bono, or who benefits, when bs surrounds and covers up or shrouds their overt or covert actions with any activity with libs in control of where money and power can be gained.

2. Follow the money after #1.

The answer to who benefits when the Keystone pipeline is killed/stalled is simple.

Warren Buffets owns/controls most of the railroad old tank cars and the railroad which bring the oil from Canada to US refineries.

How many of the Rat $inators get a lot of money now and in IOUs from Buffet to keep Keystone dead?

What do train whistles and Warren Buffett have in common?

If you answered old-fashioned charm, you’re wrong.

The Sightline Institute, a Seattle-based think tank, calls the avuncular billionaire “the man behind the exploding trains.”

Buffett’s company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns Union Tank Car Company, North America’s largest leaser of tank cars. Berkshire also owns BNSF Railway Company, which moves many of those cars.

Again the rat’s MSM has hidden this important fact from us.

Do you mean oil refineries?

The good jobs. Pipe Line will create jobs. Many good jobs. America needs good jobs. If Obama and the Democrats want to be on the wrong side of creating jobs that is their business. Just keep trying to pass things that help job creation. If the Dems stand in the way the people will sweep them aside next election.

Don't let the polls fool you. King Obama has not lost his power and to think so is dangerous. He will kick the Keystone back for at least 2 more years and you can be sure the 2016 Presidency may go Democratic. Republicans do not know how to fight and are wimps. Where did we go wrong?

No, don’t buy this either.
For either party Keystone is symbolic more than substantial. The real problem is the more general policies of the executive agencies.

Why would the Repulicans be stupid enough to “deal”?

The DEMOCRAT Senate was one vote away from overiding a Veto. In 2 months, 60 votes should be no problem.

The Republicans should just tell BO, “See you in 2 months”

We’ve waited 4 years. What is 2 more months?

He can only kick it back for 2 months.

At least 4 Democrats who voted against the KXL this time, will be replaced with Republicans in January.

Obama can whine and throw a temper tantrum like a little baby, but 63 votes will overide his veto.

Game over, Barrack.

Two-thirds majority for a veto override.

That’s 67 votes from the Senate.

No.. 2/3rd’s overrides a veto. That the Republicans likely do not have.

That sounds like a demand he would make. I guess all the oil fired plants are already closed.

It’s sort of like the offshore drilling permits. Obama went along with lifting the ban but then he wouldn’t issue any new permits.
