I do love Texas but there’s a lot I don’t understand about politics here.

That's because the most recent Texas Constitution was imposed on Texas by the Reconstruction Government after the Civil War.

Slowly some of that is getting changed.

But things like the Governor not having pardon powers stem from carpetbaggers.
