Whether or not Obamacare goes down because of John Roberts new edits is irrelevant the Federal Constitution was slayed effectively with his last edict granting Washington effectively limitless power over everything and everyone. IE no constitutions whatsoever really binds them.

This new fact of lawless government is the doom any republic and Obamacare is just a nail that really doesn’t matter over the long run being one of so many still more oppressive acts yet to come out of a lawless Washington.

Cure the disease now is too late as the patent was already killed.

Unless and untill he overturns what he did in the first ruleing granting washingtion effectively unlimited power over everyone and everything by way of calling any power grab a “tax” that could be applied against a man for nothing.

There really isent anyway to maintain a Republican constitution of Civil Government after all its just a matter of time as laws or now mere exclusive edits are used under the same pretence to cease power over everything and everyone.

The Federal Constitution is formally pointless and becase of that the remains of the Federal republic is but a rotting courps falling apart progressively into a political oligarchy/dictatorship.

You think the current abuses of the IRS are bad, particular as to this day the Obama injustice department has still yet to carry out their lawful duty to indict the IRS heads. You have never seen anything compared to what political abuses are to come thou that department.

We have entered a phase of growing political lawlessness and persecution it will end with 1 party rule and oligarchy domination followed eventually by open dictatorship.

Our corrupt political “leaders” regardless of what they call themselves “republican”, “democrat”, “independent” will be quite unable to avoid the temptation of using the unbounded powers of Government to shut down and assault their opposition.

As they become increasingly successful at manipulating this power eventually there will be no meaningful challenge at all.

Roberts WILL come through here. We may still be angry that he let Obamacare go through a couple of years ago, but that case was TOTALLY DIFFERENT. In that case, had he ended Obamacare, then a LOT of other programs would have to go bye-bye, as he would be saying that if it’s not in the Constitution, then it has no business being a program. Social Security and Medicare, of course, come to mind first. Roberts simply didn’t want to be the person that led to the elimination of those programs...regardless of their flimsy Constitutional basis.

So here we are. In this case, it’s simply an “editorial oversight”, so it’s VERY EASY to fix. No Constitutional issues at all - simply have the next Congress add “US Government” to the list of exchanges that qualify for subsidies.

...of course there may be a bit of give and take. Perhaps the Republicans might want a bit of meat before agreeing - such as (fill in the blank), but that is not the concern of the Supreme Court. What is there concern is that they give the parties an easy way out, and there is a VERY EASY WAY OUT here - just agree on changing a few words.

Robert’s thinking will be whatever he gets blackmailed into thinking. Just like last time.

Expect nothing good from the gang of thieves, liars and perverts infesting Versailles on the Potomac. Given the choice of freedom or sticking it to us, they will stick it to us every time.

My pessimism serves me well when something actually happens. The last good things I can remember is the election (and reelection) of Ronald Reagan. Sarah Palin does give me hope.

I heard they can only deduct it from your refund.

Is that true?

Not to worry. Obama will have an eo for that.

Maybe this will change their minds. Hopefully more people will stop providing interest free loans to the government

Whatever Roberts does henceforth will not change or mitigate the damage he has done by allowing Zerocare to infect this nation. If he was worth the law degree on his wall he would have struck down the deemed-and-passed piece of garbage in its entirety.

Judge Roberts will think what and when Urkel tells him to think.

If Roberts is leaning toward following the Constitution, I will worry about his safety. The thug in our White House is willing to win “by any means necessary”.

Here are the clues to Justice Roberts' opinion on ObamaCare.

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

These are not his actual children. His have similar looks. But you can see their south american heritage in their sweet faces, no? Surely you can, because it's illegal to adopt European kids from South America.

It would destroy their kids to be sent back to a strange country, away from the only parents they've ever known.

This is what FR has become....38 comments and not a damned one of them quoted the article or even references a single point made in the article. Only drive by snark and negativity. Sad state of affairs. Oh for 38, literally.....

Oh, it’s been like this for over a decade if not forever. I too do not read every article. I do read most. Not all. It’s a free forum.

Wow, then the penalty is minimal. Especially for the lower tax brackets.

Yet more socialism.

Seems to me it's getting worse - seems to me 5,6,8 years ago people commented a lot on articles with a little interpersonal debate. Maybe I'm wrong.

Any way, it is a free forum, and I would hope I'm free to comment that drive by comments without so much as reading the opening paragraph are just foolish.

Will Chief Justice Roberts redeem himself?

Now that he's had a chance to read the election returns, like any good Supreme Court justice?

I'd say it's better than even, thanks especially to Professor Gruber.
